My Sweet Sketch Wednesday and it's Christmas
It's time for me to post a card for one of my new favorite challenge sites.... Sweet Sketch Wednesday but I hope you will not follow my lead and seem to post so late. This is the second week in a row that I haven't gotten my card posted until Tuesday, but promise to try and do better next time. They have some of the most wonderful sketches which make me stretch in my creativity and I am loving playing with all of them. I decided to create another Christmas card, lol wouldn't it be funny if I have enough made ahead and then I will have to make Spring cards in December. I really don't see that happening.
The thing that I love about SSW is that you can use any style, stamps or creative urge you have....just follow the sketch.
I had bought this poinsettia stamp at the stamp show last summer in North Carolina and stamped it twice, once on ivory and then on dp, cutting both images out by hand. The bottom layer I colored with various mediums trying to get a matching red. The top layer I then slightly off set and used foam dots to lift it above. The papers are jovial by Basic Gray and I love the rustic look of these. My sentiments are from Stampin' Up's set Come to Bethlehem and I stamped part of the sentiment on a die cut for the front, adding the remainder on the inside along with Merry Christmas. Hope you like my early holiday card and will check out this wonderful site. A great place to pick up sketches for your stash.
Oh, almost forgot, would like to thank SSW for choosing my card last week as grand prize winner. I do appreciate it so much.
Card Details:
Paper: GinaK Designs ivory, smokey slate, dp Basic Gray jovial
Ink: Versafine onyx black, SU markers, TH distress inks
Images: Sarasota Stamps poinsettia, SU Come to Bethlehem
Other: GKD ribbon, Clear Dollar Stamps designer dies
