Creative Vision Sketch Challenge

I just went to A Fairy Creative Place and read about her week and it made me feel better...I have not had it so rough after all. I created this card for her weekly sketch challenge. The stamps are hers that I received this week, Thank You set. I created the butterflies from a set by Gina K Designs. The paper is some that I had in my scrap box and I am sorry to say that I do not remember who made it. I layered on a deep purple base and then layered the dp. I punched two ovals with Stampin' Up punches. The sentiment and floral is from Clear Creative Stamps. I have posted another card tonight if you have time to look. Take care everyone and I will see you soon!

Card Patterns Sketch 65

Hello!
Well, I got Rick home from the hospital late yesterday afternoon...and I am afraid he had quite a night. A lot of pain and not being able to get in a comfortable position for his arm. He is in a very restrictive brace/sling. He finally fell asleep in the early morning hours and got a little rest.
He is a little bit better this afternoon and after taking care of his Mom, who I think most of you realize is bed fast...I got a few minutes for me! Talk about cutting it to the wire...this card is for the sketch challenge 65 at Card Patterns and the deadline is at 11:59 pm tonight.
I used SU rose red for the base and some dp that was from SU and is now retired. The buttons in the corners are by Gina K Designs. I used her stamp sets, Comfort and Peace and the sentiment is from Life is Good. I love using my Labels 4 nesties and I think it made a nice frame for this card. The ribbon is a find at The Dollar Tree....beautiful satin ribbon.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

New cards for StampTV

Hello, thought I would post a few cards that I just finished up for the challenges this week at StampTV . My husband, Rick is having surgery on a torn rotator cuff tomorrow and I don't know how much down time I will have as I care for him and his mother that lives with us. She is bedridden now and needs constant care. I will try and check in and do all I can as it is a great release for me.
This first card is for the color challenge this week...using burgundy, gold and white. I layered a piece of DCWV metallic gold on a card base of 120 lb weight from Gina K designs. The burgundy is by Stampin' Up. I used versamark to stamp on the burgundy and then embossed with the gold powder. The flower is made by distressing 3 scallop punches and pulling apart. I then layered and shaped them before connecting with a gold brad. The sentiment is from GKD's set Friends and the dollie is from her set Nana's Needlework.

The next card is for Vicki's sketch challenge. I used one of my favorite sets, Life is Good. I sponged the background on to kraft card base before layering the white and sweet corn card stock. (All by Gina K designs) The images on the sweet corn were done with Versafine Vintage Sepia. I stamped the cabin in a oval nestie and colored with my Prismacolors and OMS.

My last card is for the Blast from the Past challenge...to paper piece. I again used my new set that I won the other week (in one of these challenges, so please play),Nana's Needlework. I stamped the shelf and quilt and then stamped the quilt again on some retired SU dp. I cut the squares out and layered on the card quilt. I then layered this image on more of the dp. Love this and can't wait to try it some more ways.

Sorry to post so many at once...Wishing everyone a wonderful rest of your week...Loving all the sneak peaks on the new release at StampTV. Please join us this Thursday evening.

Isabella's Challenge #8

My digi image from Isabella's Sketchbook is one of my favs. I colored it with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. The dp and ribbon is from Martha Stewart. The sentiment is from Gina K Designs set Elegant Flowers and so is the button. Thanks for taking a look at my creations and have a blessed Sunday!

Play Date Cafe #30

I love the colors for this week's challenge at The Play Date Cafe. If you've never tried this challenge site I wish you would take a look. The girls are so nice and several of us at StampTV participate, in fact there is a group at STV. The colors this week are soft yellow, green and pink. I used a Flourishes set Thank You and stamped the flower which I colored with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. The script is also part of this set. I layered the floral on barely banana and the dp in the background is from Basic Grey's Origins. Thanks for stopping by...I have a few posts today, so please check them out. Happy Sunday to All!

Picture Perfect Creations--CC #13

My entry this week for the color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations uses the colors they selected of Green Galore, Whisper White, Black, and Basic Grey. I used a base of the white and layered with the grey and a piece of dp by Basic Grey out of their Granola paper pack. I stamped the flourish in green galore from Stampin Up's Priceless set and then used various SU punches to punch out flowers from black and grey card stock . These I mounted with glue dots.I then mounted this on green galore and black card stock. The sentiment is from SU's set Short and Sweet. I am loving the ribbon that I picked up at our local Dollar Tree and this black satin was one of those. I like the way this came together...hope you will, too!

My Flowers

I decided to take some pictures today of my flowers and copycat all my friends who have posted theirs. I ran errands all day today and picked up a few annuals to make some hanging baskets (which I have not done yet). I did plant a couple of New Guinea impatiens. The first picture is of the perennial bed we planted last year in front of our house. Rick got huge flat rocks out of the woods on our land and little by little we fixed our walkway. He worked so hard on this. The large bushes have been there for years, but we added dwarf hydrangeas and the other flowers. They survived our harsh winter. I found this hammered stand (which is suppose to be for beverages at the local dollar store and we drilled drain holes and turned it into a flower container.

The next pictures are of my bed between us and my neighbor. The purple iris are dwarf and from my Dad's house before he passed away. The yellow ones just came up one year and I don't know how. Rick put a post up for my Dad's old mailbox and I need to repaint it...the clematis is growing well this year and starting to bloom.

This next picture is of my upper deck. We moved the white rock from the front of the house when we redid it last year and my friend Sherri gave us this snow on the mountain about 3 years ago....we are hoping it will fill in around this maple. Here are my New Guinea's. The iron pot belonged to Rick's grandmother.
I hope I haven't run on too long with this and bored you all. Have a wonderful week-end and I hope to see you soon.

TMITA Magical Monday

This is our inspiration for the challenge this week at There's Magic in the Air . They also would like for you to use one of their images, but no worry as they have a freebie if you do not own one. I used the image Easter Lilies which I got a several weeks ago and colored it with my SU markers. The card base is SU mellow moss which I stamped with Versamark using Gina K Designs set Comfort and Peace. The sentiment is from SU Small Sayings. I layered everything with dp from Basic Grey's paper pack EVA. I also with glue dots attached a double bow that I made using my bow easy. This came together fairly quickly and I am happy with the way it looks.

Thanks for stopping by, I am enjoying all my fellow bloggers garden pics and will try to get some of mine today and post for you later. Please come back by when you have a chance. Love to have visitors and comments.

Creative Clear Stamps Sketch 8

Happy Thursday!

I used Stampin' Up bordering blue as my base and layered dp from the Basic Grey paper pack Granola. I layered the dp on some off brand tan card stock that I had. The sentiment is from SU Small Sayings and the floral is GKD's Elegant Flowers. I used my nesties circles to cut my circle and pop dots to layer it over the blue ribbon from Michael's. Thanks for taking a look and I hope everyone will have a great week-end coming up.

Card Patterns Sketch 64

This is my entry for the sketch challenge at Card Patterns .
This week's challenge is sponsored by StampTV and the prize is two of Gina's stamp sets. I used Gina K designs card stock fresh asparagus and dp by Basic Grey Green at Heart. The stamps I used are from the sets Elegant Flowers and Friends, also by Gina. I used my punch on the front edge of the card and the inside dp shows through. Sorry that I couldn't get it to stand where the picture was at a better angle. I used the dp on the inside and then layered a piece of white card stock for my message. I am going to give this to one of my best friends that has been one of my biggest supporters for the last couple of years and is always there for me.

Isabella's Color Challenge #7

I decided to play at Isabella's Sketchbook Challenge where they are taking the inspiration from their header this week. Please check this out, if you have never been there, as they have some of the most beautiful digi images. If you don't want to purchase any at this time, they also have a free one for you to try. I used an image I purchased a while back, the watering can. My card stock is Stampin' Up baja breeze and almost amethsyt. I stamped a script image by Hero Arts and then embossed a butterfly in lilac on top. I used baja breeze and several shades of pink and purple to color my image which I layered on a square of black card stock. The flowers are also enhanced with a spica gel pen. The ribbon is from American Crafts.
On my inside I used one of my favorite sentiments by Stampendous and again stamped the butterfly in Versafine Onyx Black. Thanks for looking and hope you are having a great week.

StampTV Challenges

Good Monday evening!
Sorry that I have been MIA....Rick and I got a chance to get away from our responsibilities for a few days. We went to the annual convention of the National Rifle Association in Charlotte, NC. It was a wonderful week-end and I appreciate my cousin opening her home to us.
I have been doing laundry and cleaning house since getting home but did find time to complete cards for Gina's Inspire and Vicki's sketch challenge at StampTV . They have a different challenge each day of the week and they are always fun. Please check it out if you've never been there.
My card for Gina's Inspire 23 was created using her card stock fresh asparagus , bubblegum pink, black and kraft. The dp is from her spring mix kit. I embossed the background using cuttlebug folders. I also used a butterfly sizzlit to cut and emboss butterflies using the dp. I used my rectangle nestie to cut out a place for the sentiment from Year of Leaves and then stamped and cut out a butterfly from A Beautiful Life (both of these sets are designed by Melanie and available at Gina K designs).

My card for Vicki's sketch challenge uses the stamp set Gifts from the Sea. I flipped the sketch and placed my dp at the top of the card. I stamped with Versafine Vintage Sepia to create texture on the card stock to simulate the sand. I stamped several of the seashells and after cutting them out, I used pop dots to place them around the sentiment. The twill ribbon is by SU.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope to post some more tomorrow. It's good to be back home and hope to see you again soon.

Creative Clear Stamps Sketch challenge

Good Morning!
Hope everyone is having a beautiful week! I am playing along with the sketch challenge at Clear Creative Stamps this week. Please stop by if you have time. The challenge ends on May 15th. I am using scraps from my paper pack by K&Co Ancestry.com which I layered on my base of Stampin' Up chocolate chip and layered with SU really rust. The sentiment and dragonfly are from SU's Asian Artistry. This came together so fast and would be a good one to mass produce for a set. Have a great day and I will see you soon, I hope!

Double the Fun!

I am posting two cards this evening and they are both for challenges at StampTV . The first is for the Center Stage Design spot...My favorite movie is Gone With the Wind and we are to make a creation inspired by that. I love the vintage feel, clothing and manners of the era in which it was filmed. I used Nina's set Vintage borders and made two layers on the dp which is from K&Co and called Ancestry.com, how appropriate is that?
I also used my bigz die to punch out several layers of flowers which I distressed and layered. The center is a brad by Making Memories. My sentiment is from the new Masculine Messages by Gina K. I would love to get a card like this and hope whomever I end up giving it to will also.

My second card is for Tina's Color Challenge which is every Monday. This week's colors are black, white and grey. I love this combo and use is quite often. I used Melanie's stamp set A Beautiful Life and stamped it on a grey sheet of card stock by Making Memories. The black and white card stock are by Gina. I then stamped the tulips and butterflies on dp by Making Memories and cut them out so that I could pop dot them over the main image. The black ribbon is another of my finds at The Dollar Tree. This satin ties so well and feels like a dream. I am making this card for our friends daughter who is getting married on Memorial Day week-end. I love the look...guess it's o.k. to give a black wedding card.

TMITA--CAS with PPC image

This is my card for the CAS challenge issued by Sue Walsh this week at There's Magic in the Air . They even have a free digital image called Softly Afloat for you to download if you don't have any other of their images, which is what I used. I printed it out and then simply layered it on black and white cardstock. I used SU rose red to color in the butterfly and added this color also in a ribbon. I went for a very subtle look and am pleased with the way it turned out---hope you like it too, please leave a comment if you have time and thanks for stopping in.

Play Date Cafe Challenge 28

Sorry to not have posted for a couple of days....been a busy week-end as I am sure it has been for everyone. This is my creation for this week's color challenge at The Play Date Cafe . Please check it out if you do not already, and play along. I loved the soft colors this week and used Innocent Pink from Gina K designs with my black, white and basic grey from SU. I also used Asian Artistry from Stampin' Up. My ink is going grey and Vivid Tea Rose.
I tried to keep the card CAS...hope you enjoy! Thanks for stopping by!

Mother's Card for Isabella's Sketchbook

I have found a new challenge site that I just adore. The images are so beautiful...Please check out Isabella's Sketchbook if you have the time. The challenge was to create a card for Mom, yours or someone special. I used the garden gate image that I bought the other day and am pleased with how it came together. I used some dp from NRN designs layered on Pale Plum card stock. The ribbon is another of my Dollar Tree finds and I simply punched out an oval and added my sentiment which is from Gina K designs set A Beautiful Life. I colored the image with my SU markers. I have several posts today, so please check them out and leave me a comment if you have time.
See you soon!

Creative Clear Stamps Sketch Challenge

I finally finished my card for the sketch challenge at Clearly Creative Stamps that my friend Olga designs for. I don't have any of their stamps yet, but as I understand it you can play with any, so I used a retired set called Polka Dots and Paisley from SU. The dp is Petals and Paisley and is layered on Purely Pomegranate. I stamped the background images with Versamark. The butterflies are made with an embosslits and the leaves from a sizzlet. Thanks for taking the time to look and if you have time please stop by their site and give the sketch a try. The deadline is not until Saturday, May 8th.

Challenge card for TMITA

This is my entry for the challenge at There's Magic in the Air and their sketch and PPC image challenge that started Monday. Please stop by if you don't already and check it out. My friend Olga designed this week's sketch and it was so much fun doing something she created. I used the free Hello Cupcake digi image, colored with my SU markers. I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx black and added glitter to my cupcake and butterfly. Hope you enjoy....I know that I did!

Picture Perfect Creations CC #11

My second post today, but I wanted to get this picture up of the card that I created for Perfect Picture Creations color challenge .
I am so happy with this card. I used Stampin' Up basic grey, very vanilla and since I did not have bermuda bay, I substituted Gina K turquoise sea. I inked the background with versamark and the main focal points are inked with SU baja breeze. the grey satin ribbon is another from the Dollar Tree. I used my new set from Gina K...Gifts of the Sea. I finished the inside with very vanilla and stamped more of the shells in baja breeze. Sorry no pic, but never could get the light correct on the vanilla. Hope you like it.

Shabby Tea Room Week #8

This is my creation for get the bling on at The Shabby Tea Room . I don't do glitter very often or very well, but thought I would try. This is an image that I got from Isabella's Sketchbook and I love it. I colored it with my STampin' Up markers. The background is Positively Pink and is embossed with my Flowers Impressibilities. I added glue and glitter on the flowers in the watering can and along the can. The flowers are from SU's Pretties Kit and they were colored with Positively Pink and Pretty in Pink and glittered. I added a rhinestone brad from the same kit and rhinestones from Gina K designs. The cardstock is Going Gray, Positively Pink and watercolor paper. I inked the image with Versafine Onyx Black. TFL.

Stamping 411 sketch challenge

Finally got my sketch challenge finished for Stamping 411 . I used my cuttlebug folder to emboss the folded card made with unknown purple card stock. I then layered SU black and stamped the iris image from Gina K designs Elegant Flowers, the sentiment is from her set Friends and I used the butterfly from A Beautiful Life to enhance the inside. The ribbon is another one that I bought at the Dollar Tree. Loving these ribbons. Will definitely have to go shopping again! Loved this sketch and if you have time, go check it out. Stamping 411 #121

This is my entry for this week's color challenge at Stamping 411 . The color challenge #121 was to use Garden Green, So Saffron, Chocolate Chip and Certainly Celery. I used a stamp that I bought from Sarasota Stamps at a craft show a couple of years ago. I sponged certainly celery and so saffron around the tree after stamping the tree and leaves. I punched an oval and the sentiment is from Gina K designs set Gone Fishing. On the inside, I just sponged the same colors and stamped one leaf image. I love how this turned out and hope you do too!

Pals Paper Arts--Monochromatic Blues

Good evening and I hope everyone has had a glorious Sunday!
I just wanted to post this card that I made for a challenge at Pal's Paper Arts and also the inspire 21 challenge at StampTV. I used my "flowers" spellbinder impressibilities to do a letterpress effect in my big shot. I inked it with Stampin' Up blue bayou and the card stock is also blue bayou and baja breeze. I then tried (for the first time) doing a drop shadow effect using the same inks on an oval panel with the floral image from Gina K designs Comfort and Peace. The bow I made with my bow easy and believe it or not, it is pale blue but in the pictures it looks white. I found this and several other colors and sizes in grosgrain and satin at my local Dollar Tree. This ribbon ties well and looks so pretty in person.
Thanks for taking the time to visit and please leave a comment if you have time.

Picture Perfect Creations Color Combo #10

Happy Saturday afternoon,
I hope everyone is having a great week-end. We are going to get a few hours away from our care giving duties tomorrow and spend some time shooting clay targets (sporting clays, it is called). Rick and I used to travel along the east coast and shoot quite a bit until his Mom's heath got worse. We enjoy the time with our friends and there is nothing like crushing that orange target as it goes through the air.
Back to paper though, I have a card that I created for the color challenge at Picture Perfect Creations . It may be considered bragging, but my card won in last week's challenge and I was so excited and honored to be picked. I believe it is the first time I've been picked anywhere that it is not random drawn. This week I used Stampin' Up's sets Priceless and Little Pieces. The dp is Certainly Celery Prints and the base is bordering blue. I accented the focal with real red which I scalloped with an Ek border punch. The little pieces were stamped and punched with a half inch circle punch. I love my new red ribbon (from the Dollar Tree) and it is a perfect match to real red.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you will come back soon. Enjoy your week-end!
