Thank you gift set

Good evening! Hope this finds everyone doing well...this is a set that I created for the therapist working with Rick. We were talking and she was saying how much she loves chocolate, don't we all? and I decided to make her this nugget box and a thank you card. It works for two challenges this week. The first is the challenge at There's Magic in the Air where my buddy Olga challenged us to create a container of some sort with an image from TMITA. The base and sleeve for this was made using paper from the paper pack "Dear Heart" from DCWV.I colored Nina's image "Floating Softly" with SU markers Pixie Pink, So Safron and Always Artichoke and cut it out with a labels 4 nestie. I stamped flowers from my SU set Little Pieces on white address labels and wrapped them around Hershey's milk chocolate truffles. The beautiful satin ribbon is some that I purchased at my local Dollar Tree. Here is a closer picture of the box.

The second challenge is a sketch at A Fairy Creative Place . I used Laura's stamp set Thank You and stamped the flower and sentiment on sweet corn card stock by Gina K and cut with a labels 4 nestie. I used some of the same striped dp and just turned it in opposite directions. The layer under the focal image is SU purely pomegranate and matches the ribbon perfectly. I think this turned out well and I hope that Emily likes it.Here is a closer picture of the card. Enjoy the rest of your evening!

Having a Blast!

Happy Monday!!
Hope you are all well and happy! We had such a nice week-end and I hope you did also. Rick and I got out of the house for a few hours on Saturday, the first time for him except to the doctor for 4 weeks. He is still not allowed to drive. We went to see the movie "Grown-ups" and we laughed so hard. It is just a fun, happy movie.

This is my card for Linda Payne's challenge at StampTV . The new release is this Thursday, yeah, new stamps and stuff!!
Linda is hosting the challenge, blast from the past and this week it was to use a special button on a bow. As soon as I read her criteria I thought of this gourd button that I have had for a long, long time and the set by Theresa "Autumn Beauty".
I stamped the wheelbarrow and scarecrow and then masked them while I sponged with memento inks--cantaloupe, bamboo leaves and sahara sand. The image were colored using Prismacolor pencils and oms. I cut a slit in the wheelbarrow and inserted the pumpkins that I stamped, colored and cut out along with pieces of raffia. I then tied my bow with some of Gina's chocolate stitched ribbon and then attached the button. I like how this turned out. I hope all of you will leave me a comment and come back by when you can.

STV sketch and Speedy the Cat

Hope that everyone has had a wonderful week-end. It has been a good here in our home...Rick is doing well with therapy and it has been calm for a change.
I created this card for two challenges which I hardly ever do. Can't keep it all in my head. One is for the sketch challenge at StampTV and the second is for Challenge #9 at Speedy the Cat to use at least 3 flowers.
My card base is Stampin' Up white and the dp is a couple of double sided pieces from a paper pack by Atd. I used Memento Pear Tart ink and the flowers were punched with a punch by SU and the leaf by Martha Stewart. My floral images are from the set by Gina K. called Comfort and Peace which is one of my favs.
Thanks for checking in and please leave a note if you have time.

Joan's Garden

I am posting a card now for Joan's Garden where they are just starting do challenges, as a matter of fact this is challenge #2. I did not play the first one but as several of my friends buy items from Joan and highly recommend her site I wanted to participate. We were to create a vintage card using a spellbinder die. I used my Labels 4 dies and card stock from Bazill, K&Co Ancestry.com and SU chocolate chip. The Paris stamp is from Tim Holtz's set French market and the sentiment is SU Short and Sweet. I used Martha Stewart's punch Cornice on the top piece of chocolate brown and embossed it with a texturing plate. I like how this turned out. I like vintage cards but never feel that mine are up to par. I hope you will visit Joan, as she has some great specials going on and the blog is so much fun to look at! Thanks for the chance to play and for all of you looking at my card. Come back to visit anytime...I also have another post tonight if you have time.

Isabella's Summertime Challenge 13

This is another of the images that I picked out when I won the challenge a few weeks back at Isabella's Sketchbook. . It is called Mary, Mary and I love it! I colored it using my Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. The dots in the dress were made using a white gel pen. All my embellishments are from my scrap jar where I place extras from previous projects. I really like the blue and yellow together and am sure I will get a lot of use out of this digital image. Please check out this site if you do not already play. The ladies are super nice and the images are some of the most beautiful around, in my opinion and reasonably priced. There is a freebie available to try. I hope everyone is having a great week...Rick and I go back to the doctor tomorrow and he may get to start some of the exercises that he will do on his own. He is probably going to get his sling off and he is so looking forward to that.

I have a prayer request for all of you that will please ask God's help....we have a dear friend that has gone to Houston, TX for treatment and tests for a tumor that they found in her esophagus. They have been testing the last week and a half and she is to get her treatment plan tomorrow. Please pray for God's will, we are hoping it is not as bad as we are afraid it is and the outcome will be a good one. Thanks in advance and may God Bless each and every one of you reading this.
Have a wonderful evening!

StampTV challenges

Good Afternoon!
Hope it's a good Monday...I have 3 cards to show that I am entering for challenges at StampTV this week. The first is a sketch and I used my very first digital paper as the layering piece. It is a freebie at StampTV and it is very pretty IRL. Melanie did such a beautiful job on this set, Gifts from the Sea.

My second card is for Linda's challenge blast from the past, pattern embossing. Also my first attempt...I like this technique and can't wait to try it some different ways. I used Gina's Elegant Flowers and Nina's set Borders.

And my final card is for the inspire challenge which was a picture of a beautiful garden...I thought of this paper pack from Basic Grey as soon as I saw the picture. This card is so fast and simple, it would make a nice card set.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you soon! Please leave a comment if you have time.

Magic in the Air Monochromatic

This is my second post today, but I wanted to get this card up for the monochromatic challenge at TMITA . We were to use one of Nina's images so I used Softly Afloat and colored it with Prismacolor Pencils and OMS. I stamped the image on a piece of watercolor paper that I cut with my Spellbinders nesties. The textured strips are Bazill and the base is SU burgundy. I am not sure about the dp or mulberry paper. I like the softness of this card. I am going to also upload a card for the color challenge at StampTV for all of you that frequent there. Hope you're having a great week-end and it is so nice to play again. Rick is doing well, back to the doc on Thursday. Therapy is going good and they are pleased with his progress.

The Play Date Cafe Challenge 34

I created two cards for the Color Splash challenge at Play Date Cafe . I tried two different images to color to add my splash of blue and decided just to go ahead and make two cards. The card stock for both is SU white and Making Memories dp. My background Manuscript stamp is by Hero Arts and I used it on both cards.I stamped the images with Versafine Onyx black and colored with Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I used Ranger stickles on both flowers and I stamped two images of the hydranga and layered some of the blossoms with pop dots. The ribbon is a satin and twill that I picked up at my local Dollar tree.

Last minute entry for Clear Creative Stamps

Talk about last minute....I haven't stamped in almost a week and am just getting this card in under the wire, "I Hope" at Creative Stamps for their sketch challenge this week. I used Stampin' Up white for my card base and then layered a textured pattern paper from Pressed Petals and a solid texture by Best Occasions. The sentiment is from Creative Vision Stamp's set Thank You. I am not sure where I got the lace strip, but the butterfly and bee are layered stickers by Tim Coffey for K&Co. I punched the flowers and leaves with SU and Martha Stewart punches. I hope to have a little time over the rest of the week-end to make a couple more cards and maybe visit with some of you. I miss reading about your creations and hearing your comments. Enjoy the rest of the week-end and I hope to see you soon!

Isabella's Sketch Challenge

Hey guys!!
Hope everyone has been well! It is still a rat race here at my house. Rick is still doing well and therapy is going very good. I have a couple of quick pictures of projects to post....the first is for Isabella's which is a sketch challenge this week. If you haven't been to this blog, please join me this week and create something. I used my new floral tag that I won last week! Yeah for me! I love her images and I received two! I used SU positively pink for my base and embossed it with a cuttlebug embossing folder in my bigshot. I layered strips of Basic Grey green at heart on black. The image is colored using Prismacolor pencils and OMS. I sponged it also with SU barely banana.

This next set is for my great niece Katy who graduated this year from high school and will be attending Liberty University this fall. She loves zebra patterned anything and I created a journal for her to keep her memories in.
I hope to talk to everyone soon...leave me a comment if you have time.
Take care and blessings to all!

Creative Vision Sketch Challenge #11

I wanted to do the sketch challenge at Creative Clear Stamps for this week and after doing my first card which is a thank you card for a friend that brought his tractor and mowed our field and barn area while Rick is recuperating(It's the least I can do for him, after all he kept me from hours in the field)I loved the sketch so much that I decided to do one more. The first one is on SU chocolate chip with some retired dp also from SU. The stripes are pieces of mulberry and I attached buttons from Gina K designs. Both of the sentiments on the cards are from Laura's set Thank You at Creative Clear Stamps.
This second card is on SU lovely lilac and has been embossed with the Swirl cuttlebug folder. I layered and punched some of the SU Elegante' retired dp on Very vanilla. I attached the punched flowers to sheer ribbon. This is a fun sketch and I wish you would check out Laura's blog and play along if you have time.
Thanks for checking in and have a great evening!

Karen's Doodles #14

This is my second post this evening, but I wanted to upload this card for a new challenge site that I found yesterday, as so often happens when I follow my fingers I am not sure how I got there. It is called Karen's Doodles and since I did not have any of her stamps, I used her latest freebie which is a digi of a kitten and mouse. Please check this out as I think she really has some cute images. The challenge this week is to use either dry or heat embossing on your card...I used my sizzix impression plate and embossed my real red card stock and mounted this on su black. The image was colored with my prismacolor pencils and OMS. The sentiment is by Gina K designs. I knotted a piece of black satin ribbon to finish it off.
Hope you will check this out....talk to you all soon!

I printed out the digital freebie titled Catch of the Day and colored it with my Prismacolor pencils and OMS, then I cut it out with my circle Nesties.I really like this sketch. Isabella's Challenge #10

Happy Sunday evening! Hopefully everyone is doing well and has had a great week-end.
I have missed everyone. We are doing well and Rick is recuperating well from his shoulder surgery. It will just be slow getting back to normal as anyone who has had this or knows someone who has, already knows. Not to just brag on him, but he has always been a big help around the house and with his Mom and now that I am doing almost everything, I realize how much of a team we really are. I am even mowing, which I have never done. You wouldn't have wanted to see my first attempt. I was nervous on the John Deere, but was having a ball by the time I was done. Rick came to the door and asked me why I was grinning!!
Sorry to ramble... This is my card for the black and white with a twist challenge at Isabella's Sketchbook . I used her image which is a requirement, but there is a freebie if you do not already own one. I layered with SU black and white cardstock and dp from Making Memories. One layer I embossed with the script embossing folder from Cuttlebug. The button is by Gina K designs and I colored parts of the image with markers by SU.
It felt good to create something today...I also posted a couple of cards for challenges at StampTV if you have time to look. Hopefully one of these days I can get back to visiting everyone regularly again...I appreciate all of you that have checked in with us.
Talk to you soon!

Finally a Post!!

Hello everybody!! Hope you had a fabulous holiday week-end.
I am sorry to not be posting but my computer time is very limited at the moment. We are getting into a new routine and hopefully things will calm down. Rick is doing very well with his therapy. He is getting good range of motion so far and the therapists are pleased. He still will not be able to move the arm and shoulder on his own for 5 more weeks. We are doing passive movements at the moment which means I am doing the exercises for him 3 times a day and the therapist once. He is in some pain tonight but over all doing so good. Thanks to all of you that have checked with us and kept us in your thoughts and prayers. Mary Anne, if you see this Olga told me you were checking. Thanks!!

I am just going to post 3 new cards that I just put up for the challenges at StampTV if you want the details. I will try and get around to your blogs and cards before long, if possible. Please know that I appreciate all my friends and think of you often, even if I can't let you know right now.

Talk to you all soon!
