It's a Sensational Saturday and you are Invited!

I am hoping that blogger is kind and this is posting as scheduled, as you read this I am away for an overnight girl's trip with my only niece. It is the only time she has this summer, in between college classes, raising her family, work and church obligations to play and we are taking advantage of the couple of days she has off.  We are away  at Boone, NC in the midst of the Appalachian Mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway....shopping, antiquing and of course eating! There are lots of sweet shops in this area, can't wait to tell you all about our trip.
For the important stuff now, at Sugar Creek Hollow we are challenging you to make a tag or use a tag on your card....since I couldn't decide which I wanted to do and the themes....I did both. For my card I tried to create a French Country look, I used a new embossing folder which is one of a set of 4 in the Ornate frames set by Sizzix which I sponged to highlight the detail. My stamps are from Stampin' up's set Vintage Vogue. I love these flowers from the set. I even finished off my envelope with the flourish stamp.

Then I created this Christmas tag. I layered a tag and doilie that I received as a gift in some blog candy along with a piece of freebie digital music paper from "Far Far Hill" that I cut with my Spellbinders tag die and K&Co chipboard. The vintage skaters image from SU's set Winter Post is colored with Tim Holtz distress inks. My ribbon and linen thread are left over scraps. Hope you've enjoyed seeing my indecision and will hop on over to see what the rest of the team has cooked up at SCH and play along this week. Have a wonderful and happy weekend.

Great card and tag! Thanks for the sweet comment on my tag, too! By the way, I wanted to tell you that we love Galax, and all that area of VA. We were for a day just over a year ago.
