Visiting Hip to be Square

Hello all, I am joining the lovely designers at Frilly and Funkie where Cec Wintonyk is hosting their challenge "Hip to be Square" and this is what she says about it....

"Let's go retro and make a project influenced by the brighter colours and/or images and patterns of the hippie era of the late 1960's/early 1970's. Your project must either be square or include at least one square element."

I created a 5 1/4 square card base with layers of square and a new tile die from Spellbinders using some patterned papers in oranges and blues. The patterns and colors remind me of the 60's.
My main focal image is an ATC size watercolor panel that I stamped with versamark ink and white embossed a Prima stamp on to, I then used my Peerless watercolors to paint the background. I love the way it came out.

I added two rows of lace, skeleton leaves and a wire butterfly along with an ombre bow in the yellow to orange palette. Love this ribbon.

For the inside I did a simple layer of more of the pattern paper and a second generation stamping of the same stamp.

Thanks for stopping by to look at my card, I hope you will also visit Frilly and Funkie and check out the challenge. Have a wonderful day.

How great to see you participating in this challenge. I love the focal panel and those super bright colours that showcase the white embossed stamping. The ombre ribbon adds to the colour and your skeleton leaves and wire butterfly are just fun embellishment additions. Thanks for joining us at Frilly and Funkie.
Hugs!
