A End of a Journey
This is a bittersweet post for me today as it is my last post as part of the design team for Paper Cupcakes and the wonderful Nina May. I owe her so much, as at the time she selected me to join her and the team I had only been posting on my blog for a short time. I appreciate her confidence and trust in me and I want to personally thank her for the great guidance and the friendship she has shown me this last year. I look forward to continuing on my journey with you my friends and to many wonderful and creative things in all of our futures. I know that Nina knows that I wish her and Paper Cupcakes only the best in the world and will always be here if she needs me.
Now to my card: Ildiko has challenged us to create something with a 1920's or 30's feel to it and I chose to use the image "Dresser Bureau" which I framed in Word. My coloring was with my small collection of copics. I hope you can join us this week and play along in this fun challenge.
I hope you will still visit at Paper Cupcakes each week, I know that I will and I hope if you come from there , that you will visit me again in the future.
Happy Day my friends!!

I'm Hosting Paper Cupcakes!
It is my turn to host the challenge this week at There's Magic in the Air Paper Cupcakes challenge blog and I chose an inspiration photo I found at Pinterest . This site is for you to pin some of your favorite photos and things you love. Check this out if you haven't already.
My image is Nina's "Tulip in Bottles" and I colored it using my Stampin' Up reinkers and Tim Holtz distress inks. I also used an image from Gina K Designs that I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed using white embossing powder. I know my tulips are not a natural color but I am using creative license....lol. Hope you can stop by TMITA and see what the rest of the team has created.
I am hoping this is a wonderful start to your Monday and a great week ahead.

Happy Monday morning to you my friends....isn't this the sweetest image and sentiment? Our host this week is Gloria Westerman and she is asking us to create using 2 of the following:
Flowers, Ribbon, Pearls/Gems or Die Cuts....for my card I used my Spellbinder Curved Rectangle die and made my flower from some of the Basic Gray "offbeat" design paper and the Bazzill textured card stock that I used for my card base.
So, on to TMITA and to see what the rest of the team has to show us....come on, what are we waiting for?

Seaside Escape
Doesn't a seaside escape sound like a great idea? It does to me, and that is just what I am showing you today....this is one of Nina's newer images at Paper Cupcakes and for the challenge today at There's Magic in the Air Belinda Lewis has asked the team to create a masculine card. I hope you can join us this week, as Father's Day is just around the corner and I am sure you also need some of those male cards for birthdays and such in your stash.
My card is super simple....another easel card which is one of my very fav folds with my image colored using Stampin' Up markers and Versafine onyx black. I added some cattails and a sentiment from a set by Gina K Designs.
Hope you can stop by and see what the rest of the girls have posted for today and that you see something that inspires you.
Here's wishing a great start to your week......

Taking Shape at Sugar Creek Hollow
Happy Memorial Day and a heartfelt thank you to all of those that have given so much in service to our great county of the United States of America!!
I hope you all have wonderful plans for this holiday weekend. We have had one cookout already and I am meeting my family on my Dad's side today for lunch. Out of a family of 9 I only have 3 uncles remaining, I am so looking forward to seeing everyone, and with that let me say.....
Welcome to Sugar Creek Hollow and another Sensational Saturday. This week we are challenging you to make SHAPED CARDS. Now everyone will tell you a square or a rectangle is a shape and they are correct but we want you to stretch your creativity and to try making cards in lots of other shapes. We want to remind you that we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive inspired challenge blog so lets see your shaped cards in one of those styles. And one other reminder - our challenges go live on Saturday morning at 8:00 am EST so please do not link to a post prior to that day and time.
This week we have a wonderful sponsor, "priscillastyles" Store. The random winner will receive $10 worth of digis of their choice from "priscillastyles" Store and a Sugar Creek Hollow winner's badge to display on her blog.
The Design Team will also choose a Card of the Week and that creator will receive a badge to display on her blog and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.
The Design Team has created some wonderful cards for your inspiration using images from "priscillastyles" Store. I have used the wash basin and pitcher, which can be found in the store here.
For my card today, I used a 6" paper doilie and then layered digital paper, lace and ribbon along with Priscilla's lovely image. I wanted you to see the inside of my card so that you wouldn't think that I had just decorated a doilie, lol. Hope you will stop by the SCH blog and see what the other girls have for you this week, such pretty and creative eye candy for you!!
Card Details:
Paper: Wilton doilie, SU white, TLC dp digital
Ink: Tim Holtz distress inks- Antique Linen and Tea Dye, SU markers
Other: Spellbinders- circles and scalloped ovals, SU beachfront ribbon, McMahon Five lace, Studio18 rhinestones, Martha Stewart punch, recollections button

Hope you can visit with the rest of the design team this week and see their creations and please play along if you can. We would love to have you join us. Remember, you can use any image to play, but if you use a PCC's image, your name will be entered for the prize twice.

Sketch Time at Paper Cupcakes
Happy Monday Morning and welcome to the latest challenge at There's Magic in the Air for Paper Cupcakes . This week Lucy Marino has created a fun sketch for us all to go by:
Don't you just love spring time and the new plants, seeds and gardening tools. It makes me happy to see the pretty flowers and green grass every time that I look outside and maybe because of that I adore seed packs. That is why I chose one of Nina's newest images (by the way, now available in the store) "Forget Me Not Seed Package" to use in Lucy's sketch.
I used some Doodle Rubs rub ons to create my floral border on the twill ribbon and colored a few of the flowers with Stampin' Up's Bliss Blue marker which is what I used on the forget me nots. I dove into my embellie stash and used some things that I had for a while. The rubons, metal clip and chipboard. Hope you can stop by and see the rest of the team's creations this week and play along with us, too! Looking forward to hearing from you and visiting with you later on!!

Twisted Easel for PCC
Happy Monday and welcome to another magical Monday with Paper Cupcakes....our challenge this week, issued by Jenn Cochran is to create a card using your choice of any multi fold card and I am sure you are aware there are quite a few out in cyber land to choose from. One of my all time favs is the easel card and I have been wanting to try a twisted easel card and this was the perfect time to give it a try. I had so much fun making this card!
I used Nina's beautiful image "Tulips" and you can find the challenge here and a link to the store if you would like to purchase this image.
This first photo shows my card closed and this is the card sitting up:
My papers are from Prima's pack "madeline" and I used my Stampin' Up markers to color the image. Now that Easter is over, I am going to try and get some Mother's Day cards made to sell. I also want to show you a close up of the image which I cut out using my Spellbinders Peony dies. The only different thing about this card is to make sure your image will be positioned correctly when closed and open, especially with an image that needs to be upright. I hope you will check out our challenge this week and play along, I know a lot of you our there make some beautiful multi fold cards.
I am also entering this in the challenge at Our Creative Corner where they want you to make an easel card. Was so happy to see this ....worked with this card but I would have played anyways, any excuse to make an easel card. lol
Take care and thanks for stopping by.

Magical Monday for Paper Cupcakes
Well gang, it's Monday again and that means time for my card for this week's challenge for Paper Cupcakes where Chelsea Barnes is our hostess and challenges us to use fabric and stitches in our creations. As you all know, I do not sew with a machine so I had to resort to my old cross stitching days and decided to use a piece of aida cloth that I am still holding on to. I love to cross stitch but my eyes don't like for me to do it as much as they used to. My papers are from the new Prima pack called Madeline that I recently ordered and my coloring was done with Prismacolors and OMS. I really love this image by Nina which is called "Decorative Egg" I hope you can join in on the challenge this week. You can use any image you would like to, but if you use a PCC image your name will be entered in the draw for our prize, twice.
I hope you all had a super weekend...Rick and I got away for a few hours on Saturday to shoot in a fund raiser tournament for a local church in our area. It was such a blast, we were able to meet up with some friends that we haven't seen in quite and it was a gorgeous day set up on a local horse farm and next to the beautiful New River that runs through our area. Here's wishing you all a happy day!!

Is it Spring?
It felt like Spring here yesterday....so warm but not much sunshine. And since I hear you, and most of you are more than ready for springtime to arrive, I know you will want to play along this week. As always, you can use any image, but if you use one from Paper Cupcakes, you will be entered to win Twice!
I used my newest embossing folder to create a frame which I then ran through the big shot and cut out the center so that the lovely image "Sunday Afternoon" could show through the opening.
For the inside I simply used a border punch and then punched my sentiment and mounted on top of the border. I hope you will stop by and visit with all of the DT...I know I can't wait to see what they all post today.
As always, I appreciate your taking the time to stop by and leave a comment. Have a great week and happy day to you all!
