What is a Quirky Bunny?

Hi there, wondering about "Quirky Bunny", she is the free set at Doodle Pantry this month that you get for simply playing in our current challenge DPDC21 where all we ask of you is to create something using one of Laurie's beautiful Doodle Pantry images, and if you still aren't sure....she has some freebies for you to try before you buy. I used the pre colored set to create my card which has this small image of 3 eggs which I added twice to the larger bunny. I also used a small piece of the matching digital paper which I cut with the Spellbinders long scalloped rectangle. I decided to keep this card CAS and I have to say that I just love the blues and yellow together.
Be sure and stop by and check out all of the specials going on and enter your card.
Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Happy Day......

Going Green at Sugar Creek Hollow!!

Welcome to Saturday and that means it is time for our next challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow where we are going green, as in monochromatic green and if you like it can be a St.Patrick's Day card. The team has some WOW cards for you to get your inspiration from this week, so be sure and stop by the blog. We are also welcoming Debbie Marcinkiewicz as our Guest Designer this week. You can find more of her beautiful work at Simple Pleasures .

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display on their blog. The Design Team will choose a Top Pick and the creator of that project will also receive a winner's badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

I am so excited to show you my card this week. I have only stamped twice to create my card and that is on the inside. What I am most excited about is this new technique that I have tried for the first time to make my ruffles and you can find it here . Mine are not anywhere near as beautiful as hers, but I can't wait to try this again. Also my card was created using a beautiful bg from
Ephemera's Vintage Garden which is where I also got the bird quote. I altered the shading just a bit on the bg in Word and added this beautiful image "Butterfly Flowers" from Bugaboo Stamps , I just love the new silhouette images she is designing. This is a black image, but it I also recolored in Word with the light variation of green. I cut part of the bottom off on the bg Easter Girl sheet and used in on the inside. This is where I added a nest that I stamped from a couple of old Stampin' Up sets, Feathered Hope and Seasonal Birds. I hope you enjoy my card and will check out these sites. Believe me it took much longer to place the links in this post than to manipulate my images.

I didn't place a sentiment as of yet, as I am not sure what I will give this card for....I can see Easter, Spring , Happy Birthday or just as a Thinking of You.
I don't know if I said this earlier but the background and bird quote were freebies, be sure and sign up for Debbie's newsletter and you will start getting your own free vintage images.
Thanks for stopping by and hope you are finding something to inspire you this week on my blog. We are so happy to see all of the beautiful entries coming in to our blog and hope you will join us in creating a vintage, shabby chic or primitive design this week.
hugs to you all and Happy Weekend!

Be sure and stop by at Love To Create where they are also sponsoring a Monochromatic challenge sponsored by Bugaboo and I am entering this card.

With Sympathy

Unfortunately we have been needing quite a few sympathy cards lately and even though I would love to use this as an Easter card, I decided to create something that could be sent either as a sympathy or simply a card to someone struggling. My inside sentiment is from a Gina K set "Comfort and Peace". This card came together so quickly using Doodle Pantry's newly released this month set "Lion and Lamb" which comes with the combined animals as well as individual ones with multiple sentiments including the Peace that I overlaid on the Lion and Lamb. The Tim Holtz embossing folder was added to give some texture, but I just wanted to keep this very simple. We have a challenge going on now at Doodle Pantry's challenge blog and invite you enter your card, this month we are giving the new set "Quirky Bunny" just for playing and if you need to purchase something, don't forget the new set "English Bluebells" which is free with any purchase.

Here is the inside of my card:

I colored this beautiful image using Prismacolor pencils and oms.

Be sure and check out Doodle Pantry and join in on all of the fun.
Thanks for stopping by.

Molly in March!

Happy Wednesday, How are things going for all of you? A good start to the week, I hope....my poison ivy is still itching some and the patches are still visible but not festered as they were last week.  I have learned my lesson, no more messing with anything that I am not sure what it is from now on. Murphy's Law is still at work at my house, Rick came down with the crud on Friday and hasn't hardly been able to raise his head since, he is some better today but still extremely weak and now I have a sore throat and cough....what is happening around here, lol.

Enough of my problems......because there are definitely no problems going on at Sweet Sketch Wednesday where we are being sponsored by the fabulous Stamp Fairy who is giving this week's Grand Prize winner a gift certificate to her store.

We will also choose 3 top picks who will each receive a banner to place on their blog. Hope it is you....

For my card this week, I am using Gerda's image "March-Molly Throughout the Year". I loved working with her this week and Arlana's beautiful sketch which is this month's oldie but goodie repeat.

Here is another angle of my card so that you can see the layers a little better.

I used my fave Stampin' Up certainly celery card stock along with one of my very favorite design papers "butterfly garden" by Pink Paislee, this is one of the butterflies that is also from that collection.

Be sure and stop by SSW and give the other gals a visit this week and see the details on their beautiful cards. As always, thanks for taking the time to stop in and see what I am up to. I promise that soon I am going to stop telling you my problems if you will just bear with me....or at least I am praying so.
Happy Day my friends.

I am entering this into the Spring challenge at Deep Ocean Challenge #20

Trash to Treasure

Happy Saturday and welcome to our Trash to Treasure challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow . In case you haven't heard the news, our blog is now under new ownership, our very own Cec Wintonyk, who has been our blog challenge coordinator for over a year. The previous owner, Tracy Vinson has started a new venture and in order to devote time to that, has decided to step away from Sugar Creek Hollow. I know you will love our new look, challenges and the changes that Cec has in store for all of us. We hope you will continue to support Sugar Creek Hollow and our new adventure, I know that I am excited for all of the fun things coming in the near future. We also have a new team member starting today, Holly Young and you can find her on my sidebar at Through the Looking Glass .I hope you will welcome her with open arms.

We also have a special guest designer today, Sheri Wilshire at Twitterpated with Paper who was a winner of our Card of the Week. Be sure and check out all of the design teams cards at SCH today and stop by to see what they have created using their trash.

You must use items headed for recycling or garbage - not paper scraps & you must show a photo of the item(s) before they are transformed.
The winner of the random draw will receive a digital image of our choice and one creation will be picked for the Card of the Week and be in the running for a Guest Designer spot .

For my item this week, I have used an empty container that used to hold Crystal Light individual drink packets.

I decorated it to match my stamp room and created it to hold my stipple brushes that are taller and getting in the way of my shorter tools.

My room is painted in shades of green, much like this mellow moss and trimmed in white. I used white lace and offray green ribbon along with Inkadinkado images. The butterflies were made using a Stampin' Up butterfly embosslit with some added pearls. I am pleased with how this turned out and look forward to using it.

Now go check out your recycle bin or trash and join in on the fun. We at Sugar Creek Hollow love seeing what you create in the vintage, shabby chic, primitive style and know you will wow us again this week. Be sure and leave a comment at SCH letting us know what you think of our new look and changes. We have several sponsors lined up and can't wait to get started. Take care and enjoy your weekend, thanks for stopping in.

Yeah, It's Release Day....

March 1st, can you believe how this year is zipping by, but the good thing is that today is release day for Doodle Pantry and I am using this beautiful set "Violin" that you can find here . Be sure to check out all of the new sets that Laurie is releasing this month which can found on this page.  I created this card as a thank you for Rick's cousins husband that sang so beautifully for the funeral. I used the cuttlebug music embossing folder, distressing it with Frayed Burlap distress ink. I placed the PNG file for the violin on a piece of design paper that I picked up ages ago from TLC where Paulette is always so generous. I had every intention of coloring this up, but when I put the card together, it seemed to work better with just a sponging of distress ink. I hope you like it this way.

We have a beautiful set English Bluebells which is free with purchase this month and a new Quirky Bunny that will be sent to each of you that participates in this month's challenge on the DP blog and will be available in the store after the 24th. So be sure to join in the challenge this month for your free set!
Don't forget that the team has lots of inspiration for you, so be sure and stop around for a visit.

Don't you think this is a perfect sentiment for him? Part of this set!!

Thanks for stopping in to visit with me! On a personal note, my week is not slowing down. We are still trying to get things settled after Rick's Mom's death and sadly we attended the funeral today of one of my dearest friends. Her husband is a truck driver and arrived home in the early morning hours Sunday to find her dead. She has struggled with MS for around 14 years and the Lord has finally called her home. I have never know a more faithful, loving Christian in my life and she will be missed by many. May God Bless her family.
I have always been one to take Poison Ivy easily but haven't had a case in several years, I thought that maybe I was not as sensitive as I had been in years past, but alas it is not so. I was standing by some bushes at the cemetery after Polly's graveside service speaking with some friends and messing with the boxwoods....you got it, which were entwined with poison ivy! I have a huge spread all around my neck, hands and face. We are first thought that maybe I had just touched something that I was allergic to but after Rick and a friend went back to the cemetery, we now know....I am going to get a cortisone shot tomorrow. Oh my, as I said to Rick...you can't fix stupid.
Happy Day my friends.

Christ's Love

Welcome to Wednesday and my post for Sweet Sketch Wednesday . As to the title for this week's post....Christ's Love is what I felt from you my friends here in blogland, at home and from the church this past week during my MIL's passing. I appreciate each and every one of you. Isn't this a beautiful image? It is called "Christ's Gift" and was created by Laurie Wilson at
Doodle Pantry who is our fabulous sponsor this week.

Here is a message from Laurie:
I am simply thrilled and so thankful to be able to sponsor Sweet Sketch Wednesday Challenge! We have a wide variety of whimsical characters as well as realistic scenery, floral images, scriptures and a small selection of digitally pre-coloured images. My digital doodles have a special place in my life, and I enjoy the opportunity to share them with everyone at affordable prices.”
As many of you may know, I am also on Laurie's creative team and love working with her images. If you are this week's Grand Prize winner, you will have the chance to choose 3 of her digital images for yourself. Please take time to check out the store and you will be sure to fall in love with her art.

I know you can't wait to see what this week's sketch by Arlana looks like, so here it is:

For my card this week, I used Stampin' Up card stock and design papers from Glitz.
I used Stampin' Up markers to color the image as well.

Be sure and stop by the SSW blog to check out what my talented team mates have for you this week and please be sure to leave a comment when entering your card so that you are in the running for our Grand Prize, can't wait to see your creations.
Happy day all!!!

Photo Time at Sugar Creek Hollow!

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow where this week we are going photo inspired! We ask that you choose a photo that inspires you and to post it with your creation for this week. The above photo is one that I took myself while on our bi annual shooting weekend in South Carolina. The club that we stay at is beautiful with ponds, wooded and open field areas and at some point in the long weekend, I love to take the golf cart around and look for photo opportunities. This was made one wonderfully warm March afternoon with the soft breeze blowing and the birds serenading. I will never forget the way I felt that beautiful afternoon.
For my card I used this gorgeous stamp from La Blanche that I bought because it reminded me of this picture, so when we received this challenge, I knew immediately what I would do, don't you just love it when that happens???

I hope that you will find a photo, either one that you have taken or just one that speaks to you and create something for us at Sugar Creek Hollow. We just ask that you create in vintage, shabby chic or primitive style and the rest is up to you. The winner will receive a digi of our choice and a badge to place on their blog. One project will also be chosen by the design team as Card of the Week, receiving a winner's badge and be placed in the running for a monthly Guest Designer spot with the team.

On a personal note, to all of you that have emailed or left comments with condolences during this past week, thank you so much. Rick and I both appreciate you all so much. We are both doing well, just a very busy time for us. I am so grateful to have friends like you all, I will hopefully be back up to full steam and posting and visiting soon, until then I ask your understanding.
hugs....Patti

Wishing for Spring

Welcome to another wonderful Wednesday at Sweet Sketch Wednesday , but before we get into the details, I would like to thank each of you that has emailed me or posted a comment with your thoughts and prayers, Rick and I so appreciate it. Yesterday was a long, tough day but it also was filled with loads of love, from family and friends and we both are so blessed to have so many wonderful people in our lives.

Now to the fun stuff on this week's challenge.....

Our sketch:

Isn't that great???? Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps , Jodie is so generous with her fantastic designs and the Grand Prize winner this week with have their choice of 7 digital stamps, yeah!

My card uses her image "Daffodil Can" and I love my card this week (wink, even if I was the creator) as I love this gingham paper from Stampin' Up's retired Bella Rose collection, what will I do when it is gone? I added some red and yellow card stock to support my colors and a bit of paper piercing for added interest. I love the polka dot brad for my flower center, especially with the gingham flower. Hope you like it as well and it inspires you to give our sketch a try this week.

Be sure and check out the beautiful cards created this week by my team mates.
I hope to be back soon visiting and creating, thanks for bearing with me during this busy, trying time and again Love You All, thanks for being there!
