Home for Christmas

How about a Christmas card? I used this week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches for my starting point.

I wish you could see the glitter and shine but alas my photograph cannot capture
the beautiful shine. I glittered the snow laden tree, red ornaments and light
from the lantern using Stampin' Up dazzling diamonds and a Wink
of Stella glitter pen.
The image is from Stampin' Up "Home for Christmas".

I am also entering this at Merry Monday Christmas  where their
Challenge #120 is "Skiis, Skates or Sleds".
I love the sled against the door and would love to have one
of my own to decorate for Christmas---found one
at our local vintage/antique shop, hmmmm!

I embossed some snowflakes with Stampendous white embossing powder
which I also used for the inside sentiment along with a few more stamped
snowflakes.
I also was inspired by this beautiful picture at Festive Friday - doesn't
it just scream Christmas. I loved the pine trees and wreath and of
course the color palette.
I have a sweet spot for old trucks...wish I could have worked
that in as well, maybe another card?

I stamped the sled again,, coloring and fussy cutting so that
I could pop it up for some extra dimension.
I used foam dots to pop up the image as well after I cut around
it. I used re inkers as my coloring medium.

Hope you enjoyed my card half as much as I did making it and will
check out all of these great blogs and join me in starting
your own Christmas stash.

Vintage Vogue and Violet

Hello all, sharing my card using Sketch #8 at Stamplorations .

The background was made by stamping and 2nd generation stamping with SU's
Vintage Violet and flowers from Vintage Vogue.
I had a hexagon cut file that I cut the other day in Vintage Violet and it
worked beautifully with the sketch. I stamped a variety of
Thank you stamps- all Stampin' Up on my strips and added
champagne pearls from Want2Scrap.

I stamped two more of the flowers and a sentiment from Gifts
of Kindness on vanilla card stock for the inside.

Well, better get back to the laundry.....have a great week.

With Sympathy....

I am trying to fill in the blanks in my card categories and needed
some of the dreaded sympathy cards, so neccesary
but the ones we hate to send out.

After stamping the poppy on the same mustard card stock that I used
for my second layer, I colored it with Spectrum Noir markers,
adding Want2Scrap gems for the center. I stamped
the image on ivory with Versafine Vintage Sepia and
after fussy cutting the colored flower, I used foam
dots to layer it over the image on the ivory die cut.
The butterfly is a die from Heartfelt Creations, I cut
another piece of the mustard card stock as well as
a dictionary page at the same time, using Rusty
Hinge distress ink to add some depth.

I used sketch #301 from Sketch Saturday  as my inspiration.

I am also entering this at Twisted Tuesday Challenges
 -
Don't go near the edge - the twist, use old book,
dictionary or script paper on your project.

I love how quickly this came together and may have to give this
design another go with different stamps.

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.
Happy Day!

Stamplorations Sketch #7

I made a card for Sketch Challenge #7 at Stamplorations  using this fun sketch.

Using the Silhouette Cameo, I cut a floral border at the top and bottom
of a piece of ivory card stock. I then took distress inks in
peeled paint, mustard seed and worn lipstick which I sponged
over the cut border. I used both the negative and positive
parts of my cut, popping the negative up with foam dots.
My image is from an older Stampin' Up set , I colored
it with Spectrum Noir and Distress markers.
I stamped another image from the set in Versafine vintage sepia
for the inside of my card.

I added pearls to the border and butterfly on my tag from Want2Scrap.

If you aren't familiar with this fun challenge site, I hope this
will give you the nudge to go check it out.

Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit!

Oh Yes, it's Another Christmas Card.....

What is up with all the Christmas cards???? Seems like that is all that is on my mind at the moment but that is o.k. as I really what to complete mine and send them out on time this year. I am also on a quest to give them some pops and dimension but at the same time keep them simple to mail.

What a great find in this week's sketch at The Sweetest Thing and their Sunday Sketch Challenge #196. I know I want to save this one and use it again.

I am also entering this into the "Anything Goes" challenge at "Through The Craft Room Door" .

After stamping my image which is from Stampin' Up's "Beautiful Season" on watercolor paper I used Prismacolor Pencils to color it and added some of Silhouette's glitter to my berries.
Love their glitter!!

I embossed the panel with Cuttlebug's music folder.

For the inside I used a sentiment from the same set.

Be on the lookout for more cards with this sketch and I hope you will give it a try as well.

Thanks for the visit, I love hearing from you and I am so happy to be back in my stamp room.
Don't know where my mojo has been but so happy it is back.

Happy Day!

Playing with In Colors

Hello friends, I found two challenges that I wanted to combine in my card, the first is the sketch this week at Freshly Made Sketches and their Sketch 95 and then a color challenge at Just Add Ink where for their color challenge #174 they are using some of the new in colors at Stampin' Up.

JAI_CC_#174

I didn't have the baked brown sugar or coastal cabana card stock but was able to print a half sheet of each from My Digital Studio, love having that option. I wanted to pop up my layers for some dimension but I also wanted to be able to mail this card without too much bulk so I used the button embosslit to cut my buttons from some of the left over Coastal Cabana paper. The flowers were stamped as well with some of the extra paper and fussy cut to pop up on my stamped image, love this new set "Gifts of Kindness" and see using it a lot in the future. I found a piece of graph paper in Echo Park's paper pack "So Happy Together" that was a great match with the Coastal Cabana color.
Here is the inside and envelope where I stamped the floral image in Versafine vintage sepia.

Rick and I are off to shoot some clay targets this afternoon with some friends, hope you all have a wonderful weekend planned as well. Hugs until we see each other again.

Card Details,
Stampin' Up products:
Very vanilla card stock, envelope, stamp set "Gifts of Kindness", Embosslit Buttons die, linen thread, Coastal Cabana and Baked Brown Sugar printed from MDS

Other: brown twill ribbon Walmart, Versafine vintage sepia, foam pop dots, Spellbinders Labels 18, Recollections gem

CAS with DP's Cattail Pond

Happy Day, Hope everyone is having a great start to their week. I wanted to post this card that I made using the outline digital set "Cattail Pond" from Doodle Pantry , this set also comes in color as well if you don't like to color yourself.

I love to color or at least try, lol. This was done with a combination of distress inks and Spectrum Noir markers. I merged the image into my Silhouette Cameo software, traced the image and then did an offset so that I could create a frame to match my lovely pond which I placed on foam dots to give it some dimension. The cattails and sentiment I printed and cut with a label mat also from Cameo. I again copied and printed the same cattail which I traced and cut with the Cameo and then used the foam dots to place over the first one.

I am entering this into a great challenge at Addicted to CAS where the theme is "Water" and the inspiration to use this image. There is still a couple of days before the challenge ends for you to join in as well

.

I am also entering this at DPDC36 at the Doodle Pantry Blog  where all my old teammates still play and the challenge is anything goes with a Doodle Pantry image. The free set sent to those that join in this month is a fabulous set of holiday greetings that I can't wait to play with. Never too soon to make some more Christmas cards.

I am so happy you took the time to stop by for a visit and hope you will give these blogs a visit!
