Vintage Mo's

"Urchin with Bird" by Mo's Digital Pencil has long been a favorite of mine and as I said in yesterday's post I have finally purchased some of her lovely images.
Many of you know that I love vintage and what a wonderful surprise to find that was the theme at their challenge blog this week.

My layers of designer papers are from Prima with a tag by Studio 112 and Stampin' Up satin ribbon.
I used the peony and Labels 18 Spellbinders dies along with a Martha Stewart punch.
My coloring was with Spectrum Noir markers.

I had so much fun creating this card and can't wait to use some of the others that I purchased.

Beccy's Place Roses

It has been a while since I have played along in the monthly challenges at Beccy's Place so I was excited to use some of her beautiful images in my card this week.
This is Beccy's Ribbon Roses in Color. I added some of my new glitter from Silhouette and it matched so beautifully with the colors that she used.

A bit of dry embossing, an oval Spellbinders die and sheer/satin ribbon and I was done.
If Beccy's is a new blog for you, why not stop by for a visit. She is always sharing new images, tips and ideas. Her challenge runs until the end of the month.

Tag Time....

Happy Monday!

I finally own some Mo Manning designs ! I have long loved the images she creates and a while back I finally purchased a few of my faves!

"What's Cooking?" is one of her most popular images and the adorable "Gingerbread Man" is a freebie!

These were so easy to make. I used a Silhouette Tag file, this one is simple but you will find so many great ones in the store.
First of all I created the fold over tag by taking the file, mirroring it and welding the two pieces together.
I then opened two more tags, one of which I filled with digital paper from Doodle Pantry.
The other tag has the What's Cooking image placed directly on it. I did a trace of the Gingerbread Man with offset and cut him out to mount on my tag.
Both of these were colored with Spectrum Noir markers. I glued the finished fronts directly to the folded tag.

Ever have those things you just stuck on? For now, it is tags for me, lol!

I am entering this at the Weekly Shape Challenge at the Silhouette Blog where the theme is to use any tag shape.

thanks for stopping by and hope you have time to leave me a comment.
Take care....

Some of my favorite things....

Mason jars, snowmen and pumpkins....what a combination but I love how they all came together.
Using a free digital image of a mason jar from Sweetly Scrapped and my Cameo I was able to create a fold over tag in the shape. I mirrored the jar and then welded the two together. I then took my images from Doodle Pantry , the Snowman Cheer which is a free set and the gorgeous set Pumpkin   along with leaves from the set Covered Bridges   I laid out my design on the jar images and also cut those using the Cameo.
I layered this layer on the tag but you could also just place your images directly onto the tags before cutting them out.

I made a set of 4 of each. The topper is part of a Silhouette file. I inked the edges of these and used foam dots to give some dimension. A hang thread was placed in the corners.

I had fun decorating these in various ways, what a fun and quick way since I used the pre colored images by Laurie to add something extra to your packages  . Check out all of the great images at this site. She includes outlines and color images in most of her sets.

I am entering this in the monthly Challenge #39 at Doodle Pantry's Blog

I am also entering the pumpkin tags at Card Crafter's Circle and their In the Pumpkin Patch challenge.
Please stop by both of these blogs and take a look around.

Happy Day......

A Crafter's Journal....

Hello all, how are you doing? I am so excited to show you this journal and I think you might just have to have one as well. It is a new design by Debbie Anne Parent from Ephemera's Vintage Garden , if you aren't familiar with her work, I encourage you to stop by for a visit and while there sign up for her weekly newsletter. She sends an update and her weekly freebie right to your inbox.

This is her new journal My Crafty Life and it is the perfect answer for all of us crafters. It includes pages for journaling, doodling, addresses, special dates, supply lists and so very much more. Take a look at the listing by clicking my crafty life above, and here is a link to a video . It organizes your home, self and crafting world. You will receive a link to a video from Debbie Anne after purchasing showing you how she put the book together. She encourages you to create it for your needs and that is just what I did, I love that it will always be available for me to print more pages and continue to add to as needed.

My front panel is one of her freebie images which I am so happy to finally be able to use. I love collages and this one is so very pretty.
I will tell you as much as I can as to what I have done to add my own touches but I am afraid that this will be a picture heavy post, so I hope you will stay with me.

I colored one of the tulips with baja breeze and blue bayou inks and a stardust pen, love the way it sparkles.
Want 2 Scrap gems, a Making Memories key and a panel which I punched using the Martha Stewart iron gate punch add the right touch. I have used various stamps from Stampin' Up throughout the journal (too many to list).

Inside of front cover: I used distress inks to color the lovely floral panel and used part of the same collage from the front to decorate my glassinine bag. I loved being able to use stickers, pins and scraps from my stash to add to the lovely pages included in this journal.

This shows the today cards which I have in the bag. I also punched holes in them and added a tab so that I could place them wherever needed in my book.

This begins the first section which I am using for my personal home items. It contains note pages, a special dates to remember, shopping lists and menu planners. She also includes a envelope which I hand cut, isn't that great? I used some K &Co. papers which blended beautifully with the design.

Section two will have all of my blogging info. The tag is another of  Debbie Anne's weekly freebie, I printed the sheet of six and will store the extras in one of the envelopes. I also snipped the hand and ink image from one of her printable sheets using it to add to my own title created in Silhouette and printed.
Love the stamped images from SU on the tag.

The next pages:

This section contains pages for my blog goals, team commitments, quotes and such.
Love this!!!

Now for my personal space. I again snipped the floral image from the page above and resized it to use for my section title and cut with oval dies. The edge is another Martha Stewart punch.

Love the inside of this one! There are bookmarks included in the journal as well, love the circles and the damask pattern on the other side.
The iron post was lounging in my stash of cut goodies and looks so good with the sticker.

Here I have journal pages for my thoughts, address pages and a login page which I will use for all of my crafty sites. The clips are some that I have have for a while and they looked great when I added a bit of distress ink.

If you are still with me, thanks a lot! I had so much fun putting this together and have started using it, There are some pages that I haven't talked about included , such as several different calendar set ups but since I use my tablet for my appointments, I didn't print these.
The pages print out so beautifully and there are so many options for decorating this with an unlimited range of colors. I hope you will check this out and if you do buy one , send me a link to your journal.

I am entering this at 613 Avenue Anything goes (Don't you love their name?)

Here is one last picture of my friends, Linda and Olga last weekend after a day of fun crafting, eating and sharing laughs. Love you guys and can't wait until our next time!

Some Fall Decor....

Hello all, I know it has been a while since I have posted or visited with some of you in blogland, hope you all are having a great start to the Autumn season. It is my favorite season of all, as the colors, low humidity and great temps just suit me. It is also a time when I have lots of gatherings with friends and family and I do so look forward to that.

Rick and I have been super busy working on projects around the house and my crafting time has had to take a back seat to those for the time being but I do see the light at the end of the tunnel, so hopefully I will be posting more soon.

This is a 4 x 6 frame that was originally bright brass but as I have grown fond of using the oil rubbed bronze spray paint ( better not stand still too long, lol) and while freshening up some old brass lamps for my newly painted rooms I sprayed this little fella that I picked up at the local consignment shop.

All of my images are from the Silhouette online store. The Autumn subway art is from Kolette Hall,  the fall flourish is by Loni Harris and my leaves are cut from a file by Lori Whitlock.
I ungrouped the subway art and colored them in fall shades as well as the fall border. I also did an offset of the border to create a background which I colored in a lighter shade.
The leaves were cut from some retired Stampin' Up double sided dsp. I used pop and glue dots to affix them to the frame and hemp twine, adding a few gems in lovely shades of brown and gold.

I love looking for items to re purpose while out shopping, don't you?

I am entering this at the Weekly Shape Challenge at the Silhouette blog, be sure and stop by, great tutorials and info on using your Cameo. This week's challenge was to use words or phrases in a new project.

Thanks for stopping by.....

Posting another card using part of the Dancing Daisies from Fred She Said , I think you can tell that I am enjoying creating with these beautiful images. This is a corner flourish daisy which I colored with my Sprectrum Noir markers, adding one of my favorite sentiment stamps.
I embossed the side of the baja breeze card stock and added a punched strip of the same card stock to the inside and my card was done. I may have to create some of these for a set.

I am entering my card into the challenge at CAS on Sunday where Challenge #15 is Floral Fantasy.

Hope you have a happy day! I am off to fix dinner and rest some as Rick and I have been power washing the deck, house, driveway and retaining wall for the past two days and I am exhausted.

Hugs my friends.....

Shapes and Silhouette

Just wanted to stop by and show you my new cover, yes they now have them in pink, yeah!

I dressed it up a bit with text and flowers and the idea came from this week's challenge at the Silhouette Blog where the weekly shape challenge is to use a shape in an unlikely way. I used the Pine Tree shape from the Silhouette store to create my flower. The file comes with both the trunk and tree, I deleted the trunk as I would not need it, re sized the pine tree (one of the first shapes I purchased) and replicated the shape around 12 times to get my blossom.
I then copied and pasted it 3 more times and re sized them to create my layers.
Here is a great video that Jeana did which explains is so well. I can't wait to try this with a card.
Here is a closeup of the flowers.

Don't you love the button fabric, this is retired from Stampin' Up and so perfect for my Cameo cover.
The word Create was made using the text tool and a font on my computer and also cut from a scrap of fabric.

Hope you can understand what I am trying so hard to explain and failing at I am afraid.
My advice is to watch the video and it will all be clear.

Have a wonderful day.

Playing at Cardabilities

Happy Tuesday, hope all of you are having a great week so far! I am heading out to lunch with one of my best friends shortly but wanted to share this card that I created using another of my recent purchases from Fred She Said. This is from Tracey's set Old Truck which has color and outline images plus lots more goodies.
I used one of the color images which is in JPEG format and since I wanted to cut the image out I used the free form option on my knife tool in my Silhouette software, cut the image and then traced it to cut. Love this feature! Seems like I learn something new each day with this machine. Love it!

I watched a video by Tracey the other day using some of her stencil cut files and I wanted to give this a try so I cut her honeycomb stencil out of clear card stock. It takes a bit of time as I cut it on the slowest setting but so worth it as I will have this to use for a long time. I labeled the stencil with the name and punched a hole in the surrounding plastic and am able to put it with my other stencils.
Here is a link to the video if you would like to see how this is done. I used Gelatos (neutrals) for my background, placed the stencil down and wiped with the baby wipe to remove some of the color. I can see so many possibilities and will be sure to try again on another project soon. After letting the bg dry, I added distressing around the edges with distress ink in rusty hinge and walnut stain. The sentiment is from a set by Inkadinkado. Here is a close up of that layer. I added Flower Soft in Autumn to the flowers.

While visiting my friend Olga's blog I came across the challenge blog Cardabilities and thought I would take a peek. By the way, Olga will be on their design team the next quarter! Yeah for her!
This is this week's sketch and what I used for inspiration.
Be sure to stop by at both Olga's and Cardabilities, lots of eye candy.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your visits and comments.

Now off to get ready for my girl time and good food.
Happy Day!

Merry Christmas!

Hello All, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Rick and I have been busy working on projects around the house, you know how when you get started, one thing leads to another.
Working hard  but so happy that we are crossing things off of our list.

I wanted to share with you two of the first cards that I created using my new images from Fred She Said  that I was telling you about yesterday. This is the first set that I put into my cart, just fell head over heels for the lantern and poinsettias. I love the dimension I achieved with both of these by layering the flower petals but I also love how they will be easier to mail. I will be creating more of these for my Christmas card stash this year.

I started with an A2 size card in SU whisper white layered with a light blue layer which I had ran through with my Big Shot with the snowflake embossing folder. The next layer is part of two script papers that also come in the same set which I backed with black card stock. After cutting the lantern out with the Spellbinder Labels 4 I fussy cut two layers of the flowers and used pop dots to elevate the petals.
I wish you could see the lovely sparkle made using a stardust pen on the flame and flower centers.

Here is the second card using the red poinsettias.

My design was basically the same with a different die and no embossing on this one.

For the inside I used a Stampin' Up sentiment and another of the flower images fussy cut.

I can't wait to make some more cards using these images, be sure and check out the store as you will be so amazed at all you get in your set.
The set I used is called Christmas Poinsettia Lantern Set . It includes color images, outline images so that you can color your flowers however you like, the square and A2 text paper, sentiments and more.

I forgot to print the sentiments when I was working on my design and it must have been for a reason as I am entering my card at:
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas    - Challenge 138 No Sentiment
Alphabet Challenge    - N for Newest Stamp or Decoupage (Just bought this week)
