12 is the number!

I have another card for a couple of challenges to show you.....I am loving that I have finally created something. I love The Stamping Boutique and as they are one of the sponsors for one of my design teams I have fallen in love with the images, couldn't help myself and I also subscribe to their newsletter. For this week's challenge we are to use 12 of something:
Here is what they posted:

1. simply use the number 12 on your project in some way or other
2. use twelve elements on your project...no LESS and no MORE than twelve(DP, embellishments, CS, image, sentiment...all those things will count toward your twelve)
3. use twelve on 1 thing (twelve different DP's...lol..that would be fun to try ;-)....12 of the same embellishments, etc)

For my card, I have used their image "poppies" twelve times....twice in my focal image and then 10 times ( I counted ) re sized and layered around each other for my back ground. Very simple, but loving the way it turned out.

Here is the inside-

Through The Stamping Boutique, I also found they are starting a new challenge blog at The Crafters Cafe where the theme is New Beginnings. I always think of Spring and flowers as a new beginning, so that was my inspiration.

My coloring was done with Tim Holtz distress inks Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint as well as Memento Summer Sky and a little sparkle from a stardust pen. I used the Spellbinders curvy rectangle die to cut out my main images.

Thanks for taking a look at my card and if you are in the mood to get some play time in, please check out these blog sites, you won't be sorry.
Thanks for the visit and please leave me a comment if you have time.
hugs...

I am entering a Challenge!! Yeah!

Can you even believe it??? I have a card made for a challenge and not just one but three challenges!
Seems like forever since I just looked up a great challenge and went to create something just for it....

Shelly's Images is sponsoring Stella's Sketch challenge at Bugaboo Stamps  until January 15th and that is the terrific sketch at the top of my post. It was a lot of fun to use as a starting point. I used Shelly's images "pine" and "Christmas cardinal". I re sized the pine and then rotated the image for the second block. I love these images and look forward to using them again soon. I added a little bit of stickles to create my snow on the fence and pine cones.

Challenge 78 at Papercraft Star is Winter and I love to play in their challenges! Be sure to check out this great site!

Stamps R Us is asking us to use what we got for Christmas or Anything Goes and since these are new stamps for me I think it will count or at least as anything goes! I always love seeing what my friend Kathy at the Lucky Stamper has to show us each time. Thanks Kathy for the nudge to play.

I used Papertrey Ink white card stock and dp's from Teresa Collins Christmas Home, even though I love these any time of year , and Stampin' Ups cherry cobbler.
My border punch is by Martha Stewart....thanks for stopping by for a visit! I appreciate you.

Have a great rest of your week and be sure and give these sites a visit.

Saturated Canary at Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Happy Wednesday and welcome to this week's sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday where we have as our sponsor again this week Krista and Saturated Canary and the chance to win two of her beautiful images from her shop. We always have so much fun using her unique stamps and I know you will love looking around her store.

Arlana's sketch for this week is wonderful:

Congrats to last week's winner and top 3...we all appreciate your playing with us each week and seeing your wonderful work.

My card uses Krista's image "rainyday" and I added some new papers from Glitz that I just received. This pulled my color palette for her using prismacolor pencils and oms. I also used an old embossing folder and a border punch from Martha Stewart. Don't you just love that flower from Recollections? I do!

Hope you will take the time to join us this week and now for a little inspiration, be sure and stop by SSW to see what my teammates have posted for this week.

Have a great rest of your week and see you soon.

I must admit that I am glad to be getting back in the swing of things and back to a routine and time to create and visit. I have missed you all during this holiday time.

Our sketch this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday

For my card this week I used "A Child's Prayer" from A Day for Daises who is this week's sponsor. If you are this week's Grand Prize winner, you will get a $12 gift certificate to use in Tammy's store, choosing your very own beautiful stamps.

Congrats to last week's winners and top picks, we appreciate you and your support.

Digi Stamp Boutique and SSW!

Welcome to another Wednesday and our challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday where we are sponsored this week by Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique . You will find the most adorable images at her store...such as this sweet "Winter Chloe" and if you are the prize winner for this week, you will get 6 of her wonderful digital stamps.

I created my card using Gina K's chocolate brown card stock and Stampin' Up baja breeze along with design paper from Memory Box's "yuletide". My coloring uses copics and SU markers and polar white Flower Soft. I haven't put a sentiment inside yet as I am not quite sure how I want to use this .... maybe a winter card, winter birthday or just a thinking of you, with this image my possibilities are varied.

Here is this week's fabulous sketch by Arlana:

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and the last one for 2011 as our designers are going to take a well-earned break until the New Year. Our challenge to you this week is to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive THANK YOU cards.

You have until Friday, December 23rd to submit up to 3 Thank You entries, which will not only put you in the running for our weekly prizes but for our Christmas Blog Candy.

In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot. The winner of the blog candy will be selected on Christmas Eve.

For my card this week, I am dedicating it to all of you that come by and give me such wonderful support and your friendship throughout the year, you all mean so much to me. I used some stamps from Inkadinkado that I heat embossed with black embossing powder, a little distressing and a few gems....very straight forward this week.

We want to thank all of you for supporting us this year and to send our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a  Happy New Year - enjoy the time with your family and friends. Be sure to come back to see us on January 7th for the first challenge of 2012 as we have some great ones lined up for you.

Bugaboo at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

It's time for Sweet Sketch Wednesday with this week's sponsor Bugaboo Stamps who is giving our Grand Prize winner 7 digital stamps valued up to $21.00. How great is that?

Once a month we are visiting a sketch from last year and this week is that time, so here is Sketch 132-51:

I loved working with this cute image by Jodie, "Marshmallow Snowman/ Snowball". I used design papers from Memory Box's pack "pixie" loving the crisp, fun colors. I paired it with two shades of pink card stock from Stampin' Up which I stamped with versamark and snowflakes from Papertrey Ink's in the meadow set. I added Stampin' Up's dazzling diamonds everywhere, lol as I loved the sparkle on this card. The larger snowflakes were created using Spellbinders and Martha Stewart snowflakes layered, with the pink one dipped in glue and glitter.

Hope you will stop by the blog and see what the gals have created for you this week, we love working with Jodie's images from Bugaboo....please give them a visit.

Hope to see you soon, thanks for stopping by!

Digi Doodle/Nature

Back for the second post in one day, yahoo....and by the way, I did wrap some packages in between.
I had printed this image and sentiment out and wanted to get this card made as it is for a dear friend that is having a birthday in few days. He is very special to Rick and I and I thought that this CAS design would suit him just fine. My images are from one of my very favorite new finds from a while back and I know if you read my blog that you have seen me using some of the beautiful images from Digi Doodle and this is one that I just purchased recently. The challenge at their blog at the moment is Nature. They are also having a sale with everything at 25% off through December, yeah another sale!! They have specials each month, so be sure and put them on your favorites.

For this card, I did two score lines down the side to add a little accent and then just used a scrap of dp by Bo Bunny's Timepiece which I distressed. The image is "Log Cabin" with a sentiment from their set "Fun with Birthdays" (a freebie) and colored with Tim Holtz distress inks. For the inside I used a watch and sentiment by Stampin' Up.

Hope you will visit this great site....and thanks again for taking the time to visit me.
