Feathers at Stamplorations

Here it is the end of the month and I am just now getting my card
posted for the Stamps and Feathers January challenge

This is from their blog :

Put your own spin on this month's theme -- as long as you use stamps in your projects (as opposed to projects without stamping whatsoever) and you include an element that you associate with "feathers" -- feather stamps, designer paper with bird or feather designs, feather or bird stickers, die-cuts, or embellishments -- we'd love to see them!

For my card I used the feathered quill from Doodle Pantry's set
I have had this in my head for most of the month and just couldn't seem to get it made. That ever happen to you?
I used Spellbinders Fleur de Lis dies along with a lovely text paper from Glitz's
"French Kiss" paper pad with the notebook paper from Basic Gray's Manilla pad.
:

For the inside I used the very same quill image, I did increase the
transparency level to lighten it so that anyone writing on the inside
could see their words more clearly.
Loved making this one....

Be sure to stop by at Stamplorations and look around, I have entered
all three of this month's challenges and I am keeping my fingers
crossed that I might be lucky enough to win some of their fun stamps.
If not, may just have to do some shopping.
Be sure to bookmark them and join in next month, I plan to!

Have a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for
taking the time to stop by, hope to visit with you soon.

What a Muse!

Can you believe I am playing again at Muse this week?
I couldn't resist this beautiful card by
Marion Vagg:

Isn't it gorgeous?????

I bet you can see what inspired me on this one,
I had this great cut file from Silhouette called Always and Forever Frame . I actually turned the tab and mounted it a bit differently from the original so that it would work with my lovely image from Magic Moonlight , be sure to sign up for the newsletter so that you won't miss any of her beautiful free images.

I changed the cut file into a print and cut using the color eye dropper to perfectly
match the colors to the flowers and blues in his outfit.

I used a chevron border also from Silhouette to do a direct print and cut on my
background layer, then started layering all of my
pieces using foam dots to give it dimension.
I sponged Worn Lipstick around my heart and cut this out twice, you
can never have too many hearts, right?

I did a slight offset around the sentiment and the flourish, which is also from
the Silhouette store. Here is a side view so you can see the layers.

I trimmed the flourish to make it fit on my frame and was able
to use the leftover piece to accent the inside of my card.

So looking forward to giving this to my hubby on Valentine's Day!

As I said this is for Challenge #52 at Muse
Also for Sentimental Sunday Theme "Lovey Dovey" with a sentiment

Hope you can check out these sites and maybe play along.

Have a wonderful weekend, it is suppose to be in the mid 50's
for us, can you say heat wave???????????

Muse + Sketch

Hello all!

What do you get when you cross these Muse inspiration cards with this sketch
 from Stamplorations?
My Card.....

I loved the text background and the colors red, blue and green on Jackie's cards
and the sketches are always so much fun at Stamplorations.

I stamped my text background using "Vintage Backgrounds" from Gina K Designs.
By placing a piece of paper to mask the bottom  when stamping a second time I had a happy
accident with the unevenness of the text, Love this.

I used a flower cut file along with the butterfly from Silhouette.
I really like the way using different scraps of card stock I was able
to make the butterfly wings and leaves pop.
My flower is from MME's Lost and Found pad.
I sponged these with Fired Brick, then using foam dots
to give each layer dimension.
The Thank You is a rub on from Making Memories.

Hope you like this one as much as I do, had
so much fun creating this!

Happy Day, I am off to brave the cold this afternoon as
Rick and I and some friends are shooting in
a Sporting Clays tournament today.
Thank goodness for insulated underwear and
hot hands, brrrrrr!

Challenges Here I come....

Happy Weekend, hope you are all staying warm. It was a balmy
-2 degrees here this morning but we are
staying warm, plus tomorrow is suppose to be
a bit warmer, yeah!

I am sharing something new I tried this week, I picked up this beautiful
dairy barn which is a free piece of clip art which you can find here.
I placed into my Cameo software doing a trace and detach which
released it from the background allowing me to pull this
pine tree from Beccy's Place in, which I duplicated
and re sized several times until I had the look I wanted.
I used Spectrum Noir markers to color and both
Martha Stewart snow and fine glitter as well as Stampin'
Up dazzling diamonds to achieve my winter scene.

For my inspiration I found two challenges that I just couldn't resist.

Festive Friday Challenge #23 which is this beautiful photo inspiration

I love barns and red ones the very best.

Merry Monday--Love these colors plus my first Christmas card of 2014
I used burlap and red ribbon.

Love both of these challenges, won't you join in?

I am also entering at Digitally Sweet Challenges - Anything Goes using a digital image

Stamplorations Sketch

Hey guys, I am cutting it close but have been thinking about entering the challenges this
month at STAMPlorations so even though I am later than I would
have liked to have been, I am still posting my card.
This is for the first biweekly sketch challenge.

It gave me a reason to look at my stamps and find something
to use. This is from a set from TPC that I picked up and am just now inking.
How wonderfully they stamped with such clear images.
I fussy cut and used pop dots to raise the one balloon as well as my green hills
which were cut with the snow dies from Papertrey Ink.

I used my Specturm Noir markers to color the balloons.
So much fun!

Here is a side view showing the dimension.

I hope to enter their other two challenges this month as well, be sure
to stop by and check it out.
Happy Weekend!

Sweet Sympathy....

I know that you hate having to send a sympathy card as much as I do, however
it is a sad part of reality. I like to keep a few on hand so that I am not
trying to get something made when I feel the least like creating.

That is one reason that I am so happy to showcase a new sentiment set from
Doodle Pantry this month titled Sweet Sympathy Sentiments .
Laurie created some really beautiful heartfelt words in lovely fonts.
I am using two of these on my card along with wheat from another set from
this month, Charlie Harvest a cute set featuring Charlie Horse.
This is a single piece of the color wheat that I rotated and repeated until
I had the look I wanted.
One of my favorite things to do is look over all of my digital images and
try to think of other ways to use them in my designs.
Love the way this turned out.

Don't forget there is still time to play along at the Doodle Pantry Blog so that you can get this month's free set and remember if you use a DP image, you will also be in the drawing for a DP gift certificate.

As a personal note, I am staying on the design team until the end of March, thanks Laurie for inviting me back, so you will be seeing lots more from DP from me.

Happy Day.

Heart on Fire

Hello, Happy Sunday. Hope you are having a wonderful weekend.

Today I am sharing my card using one of the new sets from Doodle Pantry this month, Heart On Fire which is also the featured set for this month's challenge at the Doodle Pantry Blog where you can enter our challenge and get this set for free through the 24th of January.

Now you may be saying....what are the flowers on a burning heart for????
In my mind (and no comments on that please!) I see a heart shaped grapevine, so I added flowers from the Lily Collection Color plus set. I printed both Calla and Asian lilies on my heart, copying and pasting a few extra and cutting those to pop up on the heart also.
My sentiment is one of my all time favorite Bible verses and is included in another
newly released set this month, Heart For God

I also did an offset and cut out one additional lily to add to the inside, sorry for the blur in the picture.

You still have time to join in at the blog for this month's challenge and get this set for yourself.
Hope to see you there.

I am entering my card at

Digitally Sweet Challenges - Anything Goes - you get two entries for all digital which my card is.
 Fussy and Fancy Monochromatic
Through The Craft Room Door Anything Goes -DP is sponsoring this week

Ringing in the New Year with Doodle Pantry

Happy 2014!

How about some cutie SVG files and images from Doodle Pantry to celebrate? I am using the just released Overalls and Baby Dress set which includes SVG files, PDF files for those without a digital cutter, outline and color images, JPEG and PNG images for paper piecing....all this for only $3.00!
My first card uses the full A2 card size file. I used a yellow textured card stock for the base, cutting my pockets and front pieces from design paper, love the dimension with pop dots. The ric rac trim is from a set of precut borders by Martha Stewart that I have had forever. Love the way it looks on this dress.

For these next two cards I used the same dress file along with the overall file and by dragging in digital papers from Baby Basics I was able to color and decorate my little boys overalls.
I used the color picker in my Cameo software to perfectly match the colors in the papers.
I use my software from the Cameo almost as often to manipulate
my digital images as I do to cut items. Makes it so very easy.
Love the button brads on the straps. I used pop dots to elevate the top layer
on both of these cards.

For my baby girl, I was able to use the set Baby Shoes  and the papers from
that same set. I also added a bit of the ric rac to my dress and some
flower brads on the pockets.

I love how these all turned out and can't wait to try something more
with this fun set. I can see the dress used as an apron.....
you just never know what you will see.

Don't forget until the 3rd of January by using the code
HAVEFUN2014
you can save 40% off of your order with a minimum order of $2.00.

Also free with purchase get the set :
