Posting another card using part of the Dancing Daisies from Fred She Said , I think you can tell that I am enjoying creating with these beautiful images. This is a corner flourish daisy which I colored with my Sprectrum Noir markers, adding one of my favorite sentiment stamps.
I embossed the side of the baja breeze card stock and added a punched strip of the same card stock to the inside and my card was done. I may have to create some of these for a set.

I am entering my card into the challenge at CAS on Sunday where Challenge #15 is Floral Fantasy.

Hope you have a happy day! I am off to fix dinner and rest some as Rick and I have been power washing the deck, house, driveway and retaining wall for the past two days and I am exhausted.

Hugs my friends.....

Shapes and Silhouette

Just wanted to stop by and show you my new cover, yes they now have them in pink, yeah!

I dressed it up a bit with text and flowers and the idea came from this week's challenge at the Silhouette Blog where the weekly shape challenge is to use a shape in an unlikely way. I used the Pine Tree shape from the Silhouette store to create my flower. The file comes with both the trunk and tree, I deleted the trunk as I would not need it, re sized the pine tree (one of the first shapes I purchased) and replicated the shape around 12 times to get my blossom.
I then copied and pasted it 3 more times and re sized them to create my layers.
Here is a great video that Jeana did which explains is so well. I can't wait to try this with a card.
Here is a closeup of the flowers.

Don't you love the button fabric, this is retired from Stampin' Up and so perfect for my Cameo cover.
The word Create was made using the text tool and a font on my computer and also cut from a scrap of fabric.

Hope you can understand what I am trying so hard to explain and failing at I am afraid.
My advice is to watch the video and it will all be clear.

Have a wonderful day.

Playing at Cardabilities

Happy Tuesday, hope all of you are having a great week so far! I am heading out to lunch with one of my best friends shortly but wanted to share this card that I created using another of my recent purchases from Fred She Said. This is from Tracey's set Old Truck which has color and outline images plus lots more goodies.
I used one of the color images which is in JPEG format and since I wanted to cut the image out I used the free form option on my knife tool in my Silhouette software, cut the image and then traced it to cut. Love this feature! Seems like I learn something new each day with this machine. Love it!

I watched a video by Tracey the other day using some of her stencil cut files and I wanted to give this a try so I cut her honeycomb stencil out of clear card stock. It takes a bit of time as I cut it on the slowest setting but so worth it as I will have this to use for a long time. I labeled the stencil with the name and punched a hole in the surrounding plastic and am able to put it with my other stencils.
Here is a link to the video if you would like to see how this is done. I used Gelatos (neutrals) for my background, placed the stencil down and wiped with the baby wipe to remove some of the color. I can see so many possibilities and will be sure to try again on another project soon. After letting the bg dry, I added distressing around the edges with distress ink in rusty hinge and walnut stain. The sentiment is from a set by Inkadinkado. Here is a close up of that layer. I added Flower Soft in Autumn to the flowers.

While visiting my friend Olga's blog I came across the challenge blog Cardabilities and thought I would take a peek. By the way, Olga will be on their design team the next quarter! Yeah for her!
This is this week's sketch and what I used for inspiration.
Be sure to stop by at both Olga's and Cardabilities, lots of eye candy.

Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate your visits and comments.

Now off to get ready for my girl time and good food.
Happy Day!

Merry Christmas!

Hello All, I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. Rick and I have been busy working on projects around the house, you know how when you get started, one thing leads to another.
Working hard  but so happy that we are crossing things off of our list.

I wanted to share with you two of the first cards that I created using my new images from Fred She Said  that I was telling you about yesterday. This is the first set that I put into my cart, just fell head over heels for the lantern and poinsettias. I love the dimension I achieved with both of these by layering the flower petals but I also love how they will be easier to mail. I will be creating more of these for my Christmas card stash this year.

I started with an A2 size card in SU whisper white layered with a light blue layer which I had ran through with my Big Shot with the snowflake embossing folder. The next layer is part of two script papers that also come in the same set which I backed with black card stock. After cutting the lantern out with the Spellbinder Labels 4 I fussy cut two layers of the flowers and used pop dots to elevate the petals.
I wish you could see the lovely sparkle made using a stardust pen on the flame and flower centers.

Here is the second card using the red poinsettias.

My design was basically the same with a different die and no embossing on this one.

For the inside I used a Stampin' Up sentiment and another of the flower images fussy cut.

I can't wait to make some more cards using these images, be sure and check out the store as you will be so amazed at all you get in your set.
The set I used is called Christmas Poinsettia Lantern Set . It includes color images, outline images so that you can color your flowers however you like, the square and A2 text paper, sentiments and more.

I forgot to print the sentiments when I was working on my design and it must have been for a reason as I am entering my card at:
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas    - Challenge 138 No Sentiment
Alphabet Challenge    - N for Newest Stamp or Decoupage (Just bought this week)

A New Love....

Yes, it's true, I have found a new love!
Fred She Said has such beautiful images, stencils, papers, mask cut files and more. I am so glad that I came across her great store and she also has a blog where you can find lots of inspiration.

I used the sketch from The Sweet Stop which really lets the daisies shine.

I used 3 daisies from her set Dancing Daisies which has a corner image as well, keep an eye out for a future card. I merged one of them into Silhouette Cameo, copied and pasted 3 images and resized them for my layout, offset them to create a border, printed and cut, how fun!

It was also a lot of fun coloring them with my Sprectrum Noir markers, can't wait to try these with Autumn colors, I can just see them in rich reds and oranges. The background paper was made by picking a color from one of their designer paper sets, those are yummy as well. I am telling you, you just can't stop looking at all of the goodness.

So glad I made the deadline at The Sweet Stop and also was able to share my new love, go check them out!
Have a happy day!
