Just Playing.....

Hi everyone, I found a terrific site through one of my design teammates at Doodle Pantry and I fell in love with her beautiful images. This "Bucket of Blossoms" is one of Beccy's images and you can find her wonderful blog Here .
She is having a June Challenge and the theme is simple....make a card using one of her images.

I am combining it with Sketch 108 at Sunday Sketch and Stamp

and the color challenge at CR84FN

The bucket was colored with Pumice Stone distress ink and the flowers using various lavenders in Stampin' Up ink.
I used SU certainly celery and lavender lace card stock and added a piece of unknown gray from my scrap pile. I stamped the card base with Versamark and then the layers with Lovely Lilac using stamps from SU sets, Simply Soft, Sweet Summer and Kindness Matters.

Thanks Beccy for such a gorgeous image to play with and thank everyone for stopping by to see what I have been up to.
Be sure and keep an eye out for the new release tomorrow at Doodle Pantry.

Thumbellina.....

Welcome to this week's challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday !

We have a fabulous sketch for you this week which was designed by our very own Arlana, you will love creating with this as your starting point.

My image this week is from Meljen's Designs who is this week's sponsor and supplying 4 of their wonderful images to our grand prize winner. Meljen's was one of the first digital stamp companies that I came across when I first started online and blogging and my sentiment is a freebie that I have had for a long time, but goes perfectly with "Thumbellina"

Meljen's Designs is a lovely stamp company owned and illustrated by Melissa Jenkins. She illustrates whimsical rubber and digital images inspired by her kids and family. Meljen's Designs has new releases along with a new challenge every Thursday, a Guest Designer each month at the Meljen's Designs Blog, and freebies and promos now and then on our facebook FAN PAGE! Please visit the Meljen's Designs line of stamps at our store HERE to browse through all of Melissa's lovely designs! You can also see Melissa's rubber stamps at her corner of Whimsy Stamps, too!

I used some glitter and dress pattern paper that I am afraid I don't remember the maker to make my background. A bit of baker's twine and a button and I was done. I did use the Prismacolor pencils to color this sweetie.

I kept the inside very simple and did not add an inside sentiment yet as I am not sure if this will be used for a birthday or just to let someone know they are in my thoughts.

Be sure and stop by at SSW and check out my great teammates!
Be sure to leave a comment when adding your card to be eligible for the grand prize, thanks to all of our great players.

Thanks for stopping by this morning, have a happy day.

Shopping at Sassy Cheryl's!

I mentioned the other day that they were having a sale at Sassy Cheryl's Digis and that I may have to go shopping.....well, it happened and you still have time to get in on the great buys, just stop by and take a look around. The bargain bin images are discounted 30% and all others 15%. This image is "March Winds" but she reminded me of flying a kite when I was younger and that was anytime the wind would blow, not just in March.   Doesn't she look like a happy camper?

The challenge going on at Sassy Cheryl's Challenge Blog this week is What's your color? or in other words, your favorite color combo. One of mine is pink and green.
I already had this piece of embossed white card stock with the ribbon tied in my scrap box, can't remember what I was going to use it for, but this seemed perfect. Matched it with a base of Stampin' Up retired textured Melon card stock.
My coloring was done with a combination of distress inks and SU inks.
I kept it very simple as I wanted the image to really stand out.

Hope you like this, the challenge ends at Noon today, but keep your eye out for the next one to start and in the mean time, don't you want to go shopping?

Happy Memorial Day!

Love those Buttercups....

Hello my friends, I am taking a break form painting and such this weekend and decided to play in a challenge, I know I can't believe it myself.

I am using the newly released set from Doodle Pantry this month, the new color plus set of the previously released set Buttercups which you can find in the store by clicking here .

I couldn't resist when I saw this fabulous sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and decided that I just had to play.....

The sentiment is from this same Buttercups Color Plus set, I used my Prismacolor pencils to color, adding a bit of baja breeze from Stampin' Up to shadow the image. I punched flowers from lattice embossed paper and then layered them with foam dots on scallop squares in black. The background was embossed with the stylized flowers embossing folder.

I used my fave quote (Stampendous stamp) for the inside and love that you can see the relief from the embossing.

Hurry and check out this week's sketch and if you don't have time, you may want to give them a play next week. Fantastic sketches!

Have a wonderful evening!

Our theme this week is Vintage Fashion and I use 1800 Vintage Dress 2 for my card which I colored with prismacolor pencils and oms. The shading was done with Antique Linen distress ink. Don't you just love the bg paper?? This was a freebie from the wonderful blog by Emily Sweetly Scrapped . If you love vintage/shabby chic...you want to visit! The clothing emporium piece was also a freebie from The House Across the Bay which lists one every Tuesday at Papercraft Star and as a side note when getting the link for THATB, I saw they are having a Memorial Day sale.....going shopping!

I used more of the wonderful trim that I picked up a few weeks ago and made my spool from Kraft paper and added some DMC thread and a needle. My sentiment and the one on the inside of this wonderful Melon Berry paper from PTI is from the set Retro Boutique by Gina K Designs and I also added some girly images from a Stampin' Up set Antique Collectibles. Hope you see something that inspires you to join us this week for such a fun challenge.

Before I go, I want to thank our country's service people and their families for the great sacrifices so that we can live free in this wonderful country. I am proud to be an American! Happy Memorial Day weekend everyone!

It's a Wedding or at least a Wedding Card.....

It's Challenge #12 at Sugar Creek Hollow , Pearls and Swirls and the more the merrier. This is one of those projects that just evolved and took on a life of it's own.  I knew that I wanted to focus on a sentiment as my focal point and I love this set from Gina K Designs "A Beautiful Life" and of course my wedding theme was born. I started with GKD card stock layered with Glitz Pretty in Pink papers, after doing a corner punch, I used another of Martha Stewart's border punches to make a base for my trim. This beautiful floral trim which has a tulle layer with it is so pretty in person and see the pearl trim, isn't that gorgeous.....that is another one that I picked up in my lace haul and the one that was the most expensive, 99 cents a yard, crazy huh? I added larger flat back pearls in the openings.
I had a small strip of the pearls after trimming, so I added that to my flowers.

I knew there was no way this was going into an envelope, so I created a box out of Bazzill card stock, decorating it to match my card.

I used the same elements from my card....I was really happy with my punched border on the box lid.

I used the same papers for the inside!

Hope you will join us this week at Sugar Creek Hollow!! Oh Baby!!

I recently had someone request 3 baby cards....and how pleased I was to find a fun set from our sponsor this week, Digi Stamp Boutique called Simply Baby for our challenge at Sweet Sketch Wednesday .

It is an A4 sheet that contains 6 images both male and female. My card using Arlana's wonderful sketch is for my customer's family member that is having twin boys.

I make very few baby cards, so it was a blast looking through for embellishments that I had but had never used. The grommet says Heaven Sent and how true is that for a baby. The chipboard onesie, not sure where that came from. I double punched the Martha Stewart heart punch and then added a heart to my twins sentiment and hung a pin with beads from it.

I used papers from a DCWV Dear Heart that also had the letters. My coloring was with Prismacolor pencils and Oms.

Be sure and join in this week....don't forget to leave a comment at SSW when you post your card so that you are eligible for the prize from DSB of 6 digital images of your choice.

Congrats to last week's winners and thank you to everyone that supports us!

Since I needed two more cards and had the images already printed, I came up with these two additional cards that she needed for two other family members having little girls. These do not follow our sketch but thought I would share anyway.
Thanks DSB for such perfect images for me to use!!

Hope you are having a wonderful week!! We are still painting and working, but much closer to sharing with you.

Hugs for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Hello.....hope all of you have had a fabulous Mother's Day!
It started out here in Virginia with sunshine and the clouds have now moved in with lots of rain predicted.

As many of you may remember my computer problems last month and this was around the time that I was to post this card at Sugar Creek Hollow for our challenge. Cec was able to post my card front as I had thankfully already uploaded it to our group, but I was unable to show it in all of it's angles....so since this was a Mother's Day card, what better time to do just that? First of all, I want to give credit for these beautiful images to their source Lilac & Lavender and you find the direct post by clicking on the link. Megan is such a generous person and always has something for me to fall in love with. She gives loads of freebies, I hope you will visit her and let her know how wonderful her site is.

She had listed this round rose image and also made a notebook page to go with it.
I knew just what I wanted to create as soon as I saw these beauties. Yellow roses have always been my very favorite and don't you love that bit of peach!

I printed the circle in two different sizes and sized the note page to fit my card size before printing. I only had to add my sentiment ---doesn't it look cute right on the lines of this page? I used my circle dies and then layered with the peony die by Spellbinders.

For my background on the front of the card....I randomly stamped a rose from Gina K Designs "A Year of Flowers" and added a sentiment to the front circle of roses.
So glad I could show this to you all.

One more thing, I was able to go to a local pottery/fabric shop a couple of Saturdays ago and found loads of lace, trim and ribbon for a steal. I took pictures before creating holders out of card stock to store it on. I couldn't resist sharing.

There is one string that is all pearls and it was the most expensive at 99 cents a yard, yes you heard right. Most were anywhere from 10 to 49 cents a yard! The ones on the rolls.....99 cents for 10 to 15 yards, yikes!
So yes, for those of you that wonder if I am still trying to reorganize my stamp room....I hope to be able to get back to it with more vigor as soon as my painting and remodeling is finished. We are doing well, our friend is going to hopefully finish his part with the carpentry (crown molding and last of the closet doors hung) tomorrow and then just last minute painting and carpet steam cleaning and then we can start to put the room together. I have also decided as it is the last room on the main level to not have crown molding.....my stamp room gets a treat as well.
Butch probably hopes I would quit looking around, lol.
I can't wait to be finished and show you what we have done.

Sorry to take so much time, but it has been fun sharing with you all this afternoon. Now off to start dinner in a bit.....enjoy the rest of your day.

Hugs......
