Quick card...

Hey everyone, are you having a wonderful week leading
up to Christmas?

Rick and I are ready for the big day, easy since we keep it very simple these days.

A few gatherings with friends and family still and then a quiet
Christmas day for just the two of us, can't wait!

Just wanted to post this card using the set Wolf from Doodle Pantry

The image was printed and colored using Spectrum Noir markers, added a strip of embossed
chocolate chip card stock and a sentiment from the same set.

If you would love to do some shopping for yourself....don't
forget that the 35% off sale is still going on at Doodle Pantry
until January 3rd.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

CAS(E) this Sketch

I know you are not going to believe this but I made a card for no special reason
except to try out my new Silhouette Cameo machine!
I have so much to learn but oh my what fun it is!
Christmas has come early to our home.

I was surfing yesterday and found this challenge site through the creator Jackie Rowell's blog.
I loved the card Jackie created and went to take a look at CAS(E) this Design   where
they are into challenge #9 and this great sketch!

Love that they are very flexible with the layout...as long as they can see
the bones of their original design.
You have until noon on Tuesday to get a card in
for the last challenge this year and then they will
be on break until January 10th....so hurry on over and
take a look around.

Now as for my design....I used the 3-D flower from
the Silhouette Online store, sizing 3 different flowers
and cutting them with some unknown thin
patterned paper that I have had forever....
it may be some of the first paper I purchased
years and years ago but I still love
the polka dot red!
I used my Big Shot and foliage dies from
Spellbinders, added different Making Memories
yellow brads and a fun Smile sentiment from
a Studio G 1.00 pack.
While experimenting, I also cut out this border
strip with my Cameo and placed it on
the inside of my card.

I think this will be a great card to send a friend for no special
reason, don't you.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you are having a great week.
hugs.....

Gift Time....

So happy to see you this fine December morning!

Hope you are well and ready for some great gift
wrapping inspiration from the team at

Our theme for this week is"For a Gift"-
Make gift bags, enclosures or boxes.

My bag is created from a standard white bag which I added ribbon and a
doily punched border to as well as  pieces of patterned paper that
I distressed and added K&Co "Yuletide chipboard pieces, Want2Scrap jewels,
netting and flocked ribbon to, love this look in person
but I had trouble getting it to photo very well.
Sorry about the bad pictures.

I also punched a snowflake out of adhesive paper which I peeled
and added micro beads to which is lovely!

Now, hope you will be off to create something for that
special someone on your list and share with
us at Sugar Creek Hollow this week.

I am entering this at Really Reasonable Ribbon where the theme is Anything Goes with Ribbon

We are taking the next two weeks off to spend time with
our families but look for us to return with a
challenge on January 5th.

Stencils and Masks...

Happy Saturday my friends!

Have you gotten all caught up in the festivities and preparations for
this wonderful season. It is hard to believe it is only a little
over two weeks away.

I have been featuring a lot of Christmas cards lately so I decided to
make something different this week.
How about some stencils and/or masks as your tool
for this weeks creation.

How would you like to play along with us this week at Sugar Creek Hollow ?

For my birthday card I used a new template that I purchased a while ago by
The Crafter's Workshop called Birds of a Feather. I used
Stampin' Up blue bayou to sponge the images after which
I sprayed the paper with Tattered Angels shimmer spray.

As soon as I saw this beautiful template and it's branches, birds and cages I
remembered my Prima stamp set "Butterfly Garden"
and this gorgeous cage stamp.
Using a stamp around the page set to create my top layer and the corner punch to make
my sentiment tag was super fun and easy.
For more inspiration be sure to stop by the SCH blog and
see what the ladies have to show you this week.

Now I know you have some type of template in your stash or make one
using dies to create your own design. We can't wait to see your
wonderful entries.

Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for taking the
time to visit with me. I appreciate you one and all.

I am entering my card at:
Alphabet Challenge Blog where V is for Vintage

Distressed.....

Distressing is the theme for this week's challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow and distressed is how I felt when creating this card. The eye doctor that co owned the building with the dentist
that I worked for 22.5 years passed away unexpectedly a couple
of weeks ago. His practice was next door to ours and he was in
and out of our office all of the time as he and my doctor were
best friends. He had just retired the end of August!
Such a sad time for his family and friends.
Dying young at 60 years of age with his last grandchild just 3 weeks old
and she was the first girl grand child.
So sorry she won't get to know him.

So I created my card to send to his family. I sponged the distressed background with
Tim Holtz distress inks and stamped and sponged the ivory die using
pop dots to create some dimension.
I used the same foliage die for the inside.

Be sure and stop by at Sugar Creek Hollow for more wonderful inspiration
from our talented team.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Rick and I are going to
a friends home to shoot some sporting clays today.
Wish me luck!

If you missed my Doodle Pantry post, it is just below!

Old Stove

I am using the new set Old Stove to create my
card for this week.
I wanted to create a scene and this reminds me of my
childhood when we had a wood stove and gathered
together for Christmas with my grandparents and
all of my aunts and uncles.

After coloring the stove, I simply started layering all of my parts, I
used a PTI tree die to which I added some stash tinsel trim to create my garland
and 1/4 inch circles punched for my ornaments.
I randomly cut some packages and trimmed for my gifts.
I love the way this turned out and can't wait to try something
else with this fantastic new set.

This week at Sugar Creek Hollow   we are celebrating Kraft!
Simply create something in vintage/shabby chic style using Kraft.

I created another Christmas card using Papertrey Ink's set
"In the Meadow" along with the dies that match.
I used the snow dies to cut my corrugated Kraft card
stock. Stamping one tree and the snow on Ivory card stock, I added two trees die
cut and stamped along with a die cut rabbit, don't you love it?

The snowflakes are from Spellbinders, I glittered two of those and added one in
chocolate. The sentiment is from the same set.
Here is a close up.

Autumn Easel Card

I know that I have said it here before that Autumn and easel cards                                          are two of my very favorite things and I am combining
both of these today.

With the Thanksgiving holiday fast approaching I wanted
to share this card that I created using Doodle Pantry's image from
Laurie's set Autumn Star which was released last month,
It comes with outline (which I used) and pre colored images
as well as sentiments and digital papers.

Colored with Tim Holtz distress inks and markers, die cuts from
Spellbinders Harvest Tag set and the
gorgeous papers from Creative Imaginations
paper pad Orchard Harvest, this card
was so easy to put together.

I hope you will stop by the Doodle Pantry Blog to check out
this month's challenge, all we ask is for you
to use a Doodle Pantry image to participate.
Just for entering you will get this month's featured set
"Holiday Cactus", I can't wait to show you
my card using this adorable set.

Also check out the beautiful Winter Star set which is
November's free with any purchase set.

Sorry that I have been absent in blogland except to post my cards, I am
having some trouble with my right wrist and typing seems to
aggravate the pain. Hope to be able to visit with everyone very soon.

Cream/Navy/Yellow....

Happy Saturday and welcome to a fun challenge this week at Sugar Creek Hollow where we are challenging you to use cream and two colors of your choice.

I decided to use navy blue and yellow with my cream since these papers from Glitz, Vintage Blue are some of my very favorite.
I thought they worked just perfectly with the "Shabby Chic Labels Four" from
Justrite that I used. After coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers and sponging with distress
inks I layered the die cuts over another die cut of the toile paper
and the layers of papers that I cut with my border dies. I used both the
negative and positive parts of the border and alternated to create my background.

The ladies have some beautiful cards to inspire you this week so be sure to stop by at
Sugar Creek Hollow for a look around.

Card Details:
Paper: Stampin' Up very vanilla, Glitz Vintage Blue
Ink: Spectrum Noir, Tim Holtz distress inks, SU Night of Navy

It's Release Day at Doodle Pantry

Happy November 1st....and that means that that it is time for this month's new release
at Doodle Pantry where you are going to love this month's new sets!

I have had the pleasure to work with Poinsettia  which includes outline as well
as color images, digital papers and sentiments. What a value!!!

Poinsettia

My first card is a little on the rustic side, I used some burlap ribbon with the sentiment and love
this plaid paper with the crumb cake card stock.

My second card is my creation using an idea that I saw somewhere last year
where someone suggested using the pre made photo cards available
during the holiday season to create a fast and simple card.
I found a couple of boxes of these cards on clearance after
Christmas. I am afraid after cutting all of the foliage, my ornaments and hand
cutting the ornament tops, it wasn't very fast, lol!
The poinsettia background was perfect with this set. The card
has a couple of pieces of tape (and I added a bit more) which I used
to attach the gold metallic die cut.
I used Spellbinder circle dies and a Stampin' Up scalloped punch
to create my ornaments along with a ornament topper stamped and hand
cut from a Justrite set. I die cut several pieces from Spellbinders
Foliage die set to create my pine topper.

I love the way they printed the inside sentiment which enables the card to be turned
vertically or horizontally. I hope to give this a try soon on
some of my cards.

Our challenge at the Doodle Pantry Blog begins today at Noon, don't miss it!
Just for entering our challenge where the only rule is to use a DP image you
will get free
this month's set: Holiday Cactus which you can see on the blog at Noon.

Winter Star is our free with any purchase for November.

Winter Star - Nov 1-24 Free w/purchase

We look forward to seeing what you create with Laurie's beautiful images and
hope you will enjoy seeing all of the beautiful cards created by our
fabulous creative team.

Card Details:

Vintage Text at Sugar Creek Hollow!

Good morning my friends. How is your weekend, off to a great start I hope!

How about some texting? Not the kind you may do on your cell phone but some vintage text on your shabby chic/ vintage style card for this week's challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow . We ask that you
use text either in your papers or sentiment or any other creative way you may want to use text.

My text is in my background papers and the sentiment tagged in my bow.

I also used my favorite sentiment on the inside of my card. Creating this card
for some dear friends that took us out to dinner the other night.
After years of sharing dinners, dance nights and life, we got busy with our
own plans and had not done this for quite some time, so the night was full
of good conversation and memories.
Believe me when I say, we will be doing this again soon!

I am sure you will all love this image I am using this week since so many of you love vintage
things. This is Fancy Shoe from Doodle Pantry
I love this shoe and have seen it colored many different ways, all beautifully!

The lace and trims along with a punched border adds some texture to my card front.

Be sure and stop by at Sugar Creek Hollow to see what the rest of our talented team has created this
week to inspire you, it is with great sadness that I tell you that as of today our teammate Holly Young has stepped down. We will miss her creativity and great spirit as I know you will, but we wish her only the best in life.

I wanted to show you this picture of my Azalea blooming this past week, this is the first time I have ever seen an Azalea bloom in October. We planted this one in the spring after receiving it at my Mother-in-law's funeral. I could not believe my eyes. Also, I want to apologize for being absent lately, we have been away
on a trip and I have just been behind on my blogging.
Hope to see you soon, enjoy your day!

Card Details:
Paper: Stampin' Up crumb cake and black, My Mind's Eye lost and found Blush
Ink: Versafine onyx black, distress ink antique linen and frayed burlap, Spectrum Noir markers
Other: Spellbinders Labels One, Want2Scrap pearls, Martha Stewart punch, Lace and trim from outlet, Paper Studio
burlap ribbon, Stampin Up word window punch, linen thread, purely pomegranate satin ribbon,
