Sketch 134 with ADFD....

Whew, can you believe it is the last Wednesday of 2011? I hope the past few weeks have been full of love, family, friends and enjoyable activities for all of you. Our holiday season has been wonderful!
I must admit that I am glad to be getting back in the swing of things and back to a routine and time to create and visit. I have missed you all during this holiday time.

Our sketch this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday

For my card this week I used "A Child's Prayer" from A Day for Daises who is this week's sponsor. If you are this week's Grand Prize winner, you will get a $12 gift certificate to use in Tammy's store, choosing your very own beautiful stamps.

Congrats to last week's winners and top picks, we appreciate you and your support.

I wanted to keep a monochromatic look for my card, so I used the black and cream for my palette.

Be sure and stop by the SSW blog to check out the teams beautiful work for this week and grab some inspiration.

Hugs to you all and wishing you a Happy New Year and the best in 2012!
Hope to see you soon.

Digi Stamp Boutique and SSW!

Welcome to another Wednesday and our challenge this week at Sweet Sketch Wednesday where we are sponsored this week by Sally Ann at Digi Stamp Boutique . You will find the most adorable images at her store...such as this sweet "Winter Chloe" and if you are the prize winner for this week, you will get 6 of her wonderful digital stamps.

I created my card using Gina K's chocolate brown card stock and Stampin' Up baja breeze along with design paper from Memory Box's "yuletide". My coloring uses copics and SU markers and polar white Flower Soft. I haven't put a sentiment inside yet as I am not quite sure how I want to use this .... maybe a winter card, winter birthday or just a thinking of you, with this image my possibilities are varied.

Here is this week's fabulous sketch by Arlana:

I know this will be a super busy week for most of us, but if you do find some time to craft, I hope to see you at SSW! I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and wonderful holiday with family and friends. We had a group of our friends over last night and it was wonderful to see them all and enjoy the laughter and joy we all shared.  I also want to say a special thank you to each of you that have made this past year such a wonderful one to share in our crafting world. My time here in blogland with you is such a special time to me and I so appreciate your visits and comments. Take care and stay safe and see you after Christmas!!

Welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and the last one for 2011 as our designers are going to take a well-earned break until the New Year. Our challenge to you this week is to make vintage, shabby chic or primitive THANK YOU cards.

You have until Friday, December 23rd to submit up to 3 Thank You entries, which will not only put you in the running for our weekly prizes but for our Christmas Blog Candy.

The winner of the blog candy will be selected on Christmas Eve.

For my card this week, I am dedicating it to all of you that come by and give me such wonderful support and your friendship throughout the year, you all mean so much to me. I used some stamps from Inkadinkado that I heat embossed with black embossing powder, a little distressing and a few gems....very straight forward this week.

We want to thank all of you for supporting us this year and to send our best wishes for a Merry Christmas and a  Happy New Year - enjoy the time with your family and friends. Be sure to come back to see us on January 7th for the first challenge of 2012 as we have some great ones lined up for you.

Bugaboo at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

It's time for Sweet Sketch Wednesday with this week's sponsor Bugaboo Stamps who is giving our Grand Prize winner 7 digital stamps valued up to $21.00. How great is that?

Once a month we are visiting a sketch from last year and this week is that time, so here is Sketch 132-51:

I loved working with this cute image by Jodie, "Marshmallow Snowman/ Snowball". I used design papers from Memory Box's pack "pixie" loving the crisp, fun colors. I paired it with two shades of pink card stock from Stampin' Up which I stamped with versamark and snowflakes from Papertrey Ink's in the meadow set. I added Stampin' Up's dazzling diamonds everywhere, lol as I loved the sparkle on this card. The larger snowflakes were created using Spellbinders and Martha Stewart snowflakes layered, with the pink one dipped in glue and glitter.

Hope you will stop by the blog and see what the gals have created for you this week, we love working with Jodie's images from Bugaboo....please give them a visit.

Hope to see you soon, thanks for stopping by!

Digi Doodle/Nature

Back for the second post in one day, yahoo....and by the way, I did wrap some packages in between.
I had printed this image and sentiment out and wanted to get this card made as it is for a dear friend that is having a birthday in few days. He is very special to Rick and I and I thought that this CAS design would suit him just fine. My images are from one of my very favorite new finds from a while back and I know if you read my blog that you have seen me using some of the beautiful images from Digi Doodle and this is one that I just purchased recently. The challenge at their blog at the moment is Nature. They are also having a sale with everything at 25% off through December, yeah another sale!! They have specials each month, so be sure and put them on your favorites.

For this card, I did two score lines down the side to add a little accent and then just used a scrap of dp by Bo Bunny's Timepiece which I distressed. The image is "Log Cabin" with a sentiment from their set "Fun with Birthdays" (a freebie) and colored with Tim Holtz distress inks. For the inside I used a watch and sentiment by Stampin' Up.

Hope you will visit this great site....and thanks again for taking the time to visit me.

Hope you will take the time to check this out and enter a card for a chance to win a gift certificate from DP.

We have arrived at another Saturday and that means a wonderful new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow. Since we are fast approaching Christmas we decided to challenge you to make VINTAGE CHRISTMAS TAGS. Your vintage tag can be part of a card or a stand-alone beauty.

We want to remind you that we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge blog and when you enter one of our challenges, your creation must fit one of those styles as well as following the weekly theme.

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Don't forget, we also have Christmas Blog Candy for one lucky winner to be chosen from our challenge entries between now and Christmas Eve.

Rick and I were able to get away for a few hours on Tuesday to go shopping and eat out ... and I made my first visit to an Ikea store where I found these beautiful vintage images on cards and tags. I also purchased some candy bars which I will be giving as gifts with these wonderful covers. I used SU gray to cover the bar, then scored and folded this wonderful Victorian lady card around it! Punching some of the gray with the new doily punch also by SU, I layered it with the tags...one of which I put an antique looking brad through. I then used a sentiment and doily stamp on a Clear Dollar die cut along with some clear gems. This was a lot of fun and so simple, hope they like them.

Our designers have created some gorgeous tags for your inspiration. If you would like the details just click on their name to be taken directly to their blog.

Thanks for stopping by to visit and I am hoping to see your card there this week. Enjoy this wonderful time of the year and all of the wonderful things in it!

SNOW at Designed 2 Delight

Hi my friends, hope you are enjoying your week and all of the preparations for this wonderful holiday season! I am getting ready to go wrap some gifts but wanted to first share this card that I made for the challenge now going on at Designed 2 Delight where this week's rules are to
SNOW! (Glitter and/or Flocking) I want to see SNOW!  Lets see white glitter or fluff on your cards!
I used Faith's image from D2D "For the Birds Snowman"....first printing him out and die cutting him using Spellbinders Labels 4. He was colored with Prisma pencils and oms. I also cut my snow banks with the dies from Papertrey Ink, just loving those, before adding some glue, stickles and glitter.
I love this navy/white flecked paper from the Rubber Cottage, it adds the starry night without doing a thing.

For the inside, my snowflakes are from PTI's set "In the Meadow" and stamped with Faded Jeans distress ink, the Warmest Wishes is from a SU retired set "Harvest of Friendship". This was super fast and makes me smile. Love those snowmen!

Be sure and check out the challenge now going on for your chance to win one of Faith's images.
Have a wonderful evening and see you soon.

Sassy Cheryl and Sketch 131 at SSW!

Welcome to my Sweet Sketch Wednesday post! I hope that your preparations for the upcoming Christmas season are going well!! Can you believe how fast the time is going or is it just me in my middle age time sprint??? Whatever the reason, hope you are enjoying every minute of every day!

This week we are working with Sketch 131 created by our own Arlana....

And sponsored by the fantastic Sassy Cheryl's , you must take a look at her store, you just won't believe the beautiful images that she has. If you are lucky enough to be this week's Grand Prize winner, you will receive a $5 gift certificate to the store.

My card was created using Stampin' Up old olive card stock along with retired dp "Dashing" and an unknown red card stock. I adore this image as well as all of the ones used this week by our fabulous design divas. Mine is called "Santa and little Snowey". I used Stampin' Up markers, stickles and Martha Stewart glitter to color them.

I hope you will join our challenge this week...I know what a super busy time of year it is for everyone, but please stop by the blog and see the rest of the team's work!!
Congrats to last week's winners and thanks to all of you that take the time to visit and leave me a note.
Take care and be sure to make a wonderful memory today!

More CAS cards from Doodle Pantry

Happy Sunday to you all, I am still needing a few more quick, but beautiful cards so I created two more styles using my images from Doodle Pantry where we are on vacation from the challenge and new releases for this month, but the store is open for business with a 30% off sale on all of the digital products from now through Dec 24th, what a great time to go shopping.

All of my images and sentiments are from various Doodle Pantry sets and pre colored....even faster than my other cards that I showed you last week. These two use digital paper from the Minty paper pack with the sentiment from Christmas Wreath which was released last month. I simply re sized both until I got the look that I wanted...again printing these out in the landscape mode with two columns, to make it a quick and easy fit on my card stock. then simply cut into two cards, score and fold!

These next two have a few more elements, but all from the set Candy Cane Ants released in October. I used the digital paper, sentiment and pre colored image from this set....laying it out and resizing until I was happy with the design.

I used a textured white card stock from Rubber Cottage to print these on and love the added texture to my cards. So, if like me you need a few extra cards for this year, why not give this a try.

Have a wonderful rest of your weekend.

News at Sugar Creek Hollow!!

Welcome to Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow
and a new challenge. Before I get to the challenge, let me tell you
about some changes to the Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team.

First, we are losing a couple of our wonderful designers because of
family commitments. Marsha has been with Sugar Creek Hollow
since the very beginning and her wonderful vintage designs will be
missed. While Heide hasn't been with us as long, she has
inspired us all each week with some gorgeous designs. Renee is
going to stay with the team but will be scaling back her participation.
Starting in the New Year she will become our Feature Artist and will
show us all how Recycling and Repurposing are done the vintage way when
those challenges come up. These ladies have made valuable contributions
to the Sugar Creek Hollow team and have become lovely online crafting
friends.

Next, we have three new designers coming on board and they are joining
us with their vintage beauties for the challenge this week so you can
get a preview of what they will be showing you starting in January.

Give a big welcome to:

Linda Payne from Payne Holler Cards
Peggy Marsh from The Wired Angel
Daniele Haddon from The Musings of a Chocoholic

Now on to our challenge. With Christmas close at hand, our challenge to
you this week is to make CHRISTMAS
CARDS IN NON-TRADITIONAL COLORS
. Don't forget that we are a
vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge and want you to create in
those styles.

We have a lovely new sponsor this week. Please welcome Delicious
Doodles who will be providing one random winner with 4 digis of her
choice. The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow
winner's badge to display. The Design Team will also choose a Card of
the Week and the creator will also receive a badge to display and will
be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

I had the chance to work with the image "Christmas Candle".... don't you just love it? I decided to go shabby chic this week and love these papers from My Mind's Eye. Gingham just seemed to be the perfect backdrop. I added some pleated ribbon, pearls and pink gems along with a handmade pennant to showcase my sentiment. I used various pink inks from my stash to watercolor the poinsettia. My corners were punched with a new Martha Stewart punch around the page set that I picked up last weekend. I added gold stickles over the gold on my stamen and the candle flame.

I used the same punch set to punch my border out of both of those same design papers, stamping the sentiment from Stampin' Up's set "Come to Bethlehem".

Don't forget, we also have Christmas Blog Candy for one lucky winner to be chosen from
our challenge entries
between now and Christmas Eve.

To inspire you all of our current and our new designers have created
some fabulous Christmas cards in non-traditional colors using a couple
of the images from Delicious Doodles. Looking forward to seeing what you create this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Sketch Wednesday Sketch #130

Happy Wednesday and welcome to this week's sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday where this week's sponsor is Di's Digi Dowloads and up for grabs to our Grand Prize winner...a $10 gift certificate to Diane's store.

Hope you can join us this week and create something using Arlana's beautiful sketch! We appreciate each of you that takes the time to join us in our challenges!

I used one of my very favorite designer paper packs from Stampin' Up that is now retired, Wintergreen. My ribbon and corduroy buttons are also from Stampin' Up....as well as the markers that I colored this cute image with.

Here is a peek at the inside:

I used my new sentiment set from Papertrey Ink to stamp the inside.

On a more personal note, I apologize for not visiting and being around the past several days. There are several couples that my husband and I are close friends with that form a special group and one of those has been fighting cancer for the past year and a half. I had blogged about Jill's battle with esophageal cancer before and unfortunately it ended on Monday around midday. She took a turn for the worse on Sunday and was taken to the hospital where she spent the last hours of her life surrounded by her family. Rick and I are puppy sitting for Jansen ( her husband) and for those of you that read my blog, you know that I am a cat person and have very little experience with dogs....it has been an adventure. Murphy is such a beautiful miniature dachshund and not much larger than my hands, lol she has my largest cat Sable truly buffaloed. Please, for those of you that will, please say a prayer for her family. On top of all of this, my Internet has been down and has just now come back up on Tuesday evening, so I am trying to get this loaded in case we lose it again. It was down all over VA for our service....must have been the cyber Monday shoppers!

I promise to get back around as soon as I can, take care and thanks for understanding.
Hugs to you all and be sure and hug those that you love.

Card Details:
Paper: SU always atrichoke, Wintergreen
Ink: SU markers, stardust pen, stickles diamond

Fancy Folds at Sugar Creek Hollow

Good morning and welcome to another Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow.
This week our challenge to you is FANCY
FOLDS
. So think outside the box or past the single fold and
let us see vintage, shabby chic or primitive cards with fun and fancy
folds.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday if you celebrate and if not, a great week. I have eaten entirely too much and my niece and I did a marathon all day shop yesterday, so I am happy to be at home today. It sounds as if this will be our last really warm day (60's) this week, so I am going to try and get my outside Christmas decorations up and then maybe take down my Autumn and redo the inside the first of the week. I am on a mission to get it done so that I can enjoy the month of December with friends and family this year
.
Now, as to my card....those that follow me or visit very often have probably heard me talk about how much I love easel cards, so that is what I decided to make for this weeks challenge.

I used a frame image (free) from Percy and Bloom and used foam dots to mount the dress form which is a design from McMahon Five (love them and they are having a sale). Stamping the damask in Versamark on the inside gives me a soft look. Those are the limitless layers dies from Papertrey Ink and I think they will be one of my new favorites!

The Cloud 9 pebble quote say "Memories are the most beautiful picture"and I know just the person to send it to.

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a
winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one
project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and
will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Don't forget, we also have Christmas Blog Candy for one lucky winner to be chosen from
our challenge entries
between now and Christmas Eve.

The ladies on the Design Team are joined by a Guest Designer today.
Please welcome Brenda Brown, who was chosen from the October
Cards of the Week. All the designers have created some cards with very
fun folds for your inspiration. To get details just click on their name
and you will be taken directly to their blog.

I hope your weekend will be full of happiness and blessings! Thanks for stopping by.

New Sponsor at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!

I am so excited to show you this card made with  an image from our new sponsor Whimsie Doodles , I had such a difficult time deciding which of their beautiful digital images that I wanted to use, but finally decided on this set "axelent Christmas". Here is a bit about them:

Whimsie Doodles is so excited to be sponsoring the new challenge! In March of 2009 Melyssa Connolly, artist and owner, began turning her whimsical hand-drawn images into digital files for sale online. Whimsie Doodles' digital stamp line features images that range from cute little boys and girls, to punny stuff, and everything in-between. We enjoy sharing lots of samples on our company blog, where we also post challenges and tutorials.

Special Offer:
A special offer for Sweet Sketch Wednesday fans - use the discount code SwtWed10 at the Whimsie Doodles online store and receive 10% off your next order! Code expires 30 days from today, November 23, 2011.
Isn't that great!! I know you will find something that you love and just have to have. And here is our sketch for this week, created by our founder Arlana!

For my card, I colored my image using copics, American crafts metallic and glitter pens. I stamped my Christmas tree straight on my design paper and then cut to size in even squares. I love the way this turned out and this image of the ice skates will be one of my faves for the future. I also layered my same papers for the inside, embossing one edge of the brown card stock with an embossing folder.

I know this is a busy week for everyone and I appreciate the time it took to stop by and see my card, I hope you will find time to play along with us this week. Be sure and stop by at Sweet Sketch Wednesday to see what the rest of my team mates have created and find loads of inspiration.

Happy Thanksgiving to those celebrating this week!

Doodle Pantry Mutiple Cards

Happy Tuesday, if you read my post from last night you saw where I needed to make some more Christmas cards and I had been tossing this idea around for a bit. I printed two cards on one sheet of white card stock  printed out in landscape format and then simply cut into at 5 1/2 inches. Then after a little bit of coloring using my Prisma pencils and oms, they were ready to be sent. This is a simple one layer card that will be easy to mail.

My first set was made using one of my favorite sets Holy Land flowers (there are 3 different sets) and the Star of Bethlehem, using Laurie's sentiments, this set makes beautiful Christmas, Easter or just any time cards.

My second set of cards uses Laurie's set "Blessed Christmas" which I used the outline image and colored it myself, but this set also comes precolored and then how easy would this be???

You still have time to enter our challenge now going on through the 24th and just for playing and using a Doodle Pantry image, you will receive this months free set "Wishbone Ants". So jump on over to Doodle Pantry and check it out.

Digi Doodle Color Challenge #83

Well, I am back and able to see what I am posting....our monitor must have been gradually going bad for a bit, as now that I have my new one it is so bright!!! almost blinds me the other way. I am back with another Christmas card....need to replenish my stash. A couple of my friends talked me into joining them at a local craft sale this past Saturday and as it was not planned in advance, I just took a bunch of things that I had in my stash. We all three did pretty well and it was so much fun just hanging out and visiting with each other... a shout out to Cindy and Sharon, thanks guys!

My card is for the color challenge Red/Green, now going on at Digi Doodles which is one of my new favorite blogs. I love the images and need to get my order in for this month. You will love the free with purchase set and there is a sale on animal images as well. For my card this week, I went with a sentiment from the free set "Faith, Hope, Love".  I love the way this turned out, I may need to put some more of these together. I used design paper from K&Co "yuletide" and simply die cut the sentiment and then before removing from the die, I sponged it with peeled paint distress ink. My bow is from some sheer ribbon that I bought at the local Dollar Tree.

For the inside, I used the rest of the piece that I had cut for the front and die cut it with a border punch by Martha Stewart. My "Merry Christmas" is from Stampin' Up's set Come to Bethlehem.

This was very fast and easy to put together, but I love the statement from John 3:16 on my Christmas card. Hope you are doing well and getting ready for a wonderful holiday. I just love Thanksgiving and can't wait to see my family this week. I will be trying to stop by for a visit in between some cleaning and cooking. I think that my grocery shopping is done.
Thanks for stopping by.

Card Details:
Paper: SU cherry cobbler, ivory, K& co yuletide
Ink: THDI peeled paint, Versafine onyx black

Papercraft Star

Good Evening, I hope this finds you all well...and enjoying a wonderful weekend. I am doing a last minute post for Challenge  71 A Special Thank You at Papercraft Star where this week the theme is a thank you card and as always, you can either use their inspiration photo or not.

I think this is such a beautiful photo and the cards made by the design team are gorgeous. I immediately thought of this digital stamp by Isabella. Please check out this blog site when you have a moment. Their challenges are so inspiring and fun, which is what this is all about. Plus I am in love with their sponsor, The House Across the Bay!

This weekend has been super busy and I haven't been around much .... hopefully I will be by to visit soon. I am having some monitor problems and just typing this is giving me a headache, so I will try and fix that tomorrow and be back online. Take care and thanks for stopping by.
